Berserker, Gardags (3.5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
Berserker[edit]
The Berserker is a warrior that fights in a trance-like fury called "Berserker Rage", Berserkers follow a clan or family tradition of combat, being prized as elite warriors and training since childhood, they fight for personal honor, glory and whatever they can loot as proof of their deeds. Berserkers take whatever opportunity they can take to prove their worth. This class is mostly made to replace the Barbarian, instead of proposing a savage brute, the Berserker focuses on a more combat-oriented approach, presenting it as a fierce warrior instead.
Making a Berserker[edit]
The Berserker dominates the battlefield with his strength and endurance, his combats are brief as few opponents can withstand a prolonged melee with him, the Berserker is a melee damage specialist relying in hard strikes and unstoppable attacks, while in Rage he can perform inhuman feats of Strength, hacking weak opponents and overpowering the strong ones .
Abilities: Strength is very important to the Berserker for dealing maximum damage, Constitution is also important for endurance in combat.
Races: Human only (has to be from a civilized society).
Alignment: Berserker can be any non-chaotic alignment, unlike Barbarians, their rage is not motivated by savagery, but warrior ferocity instead.
Starting Gold: As Barbarian.
Starting Age: As Barbarian.

The berserker may prematurely end the rage voluntarily. At the end of the rage, the berserker is fatigued (–2 to Strength, –2 to Dexterity, can't charge or run) for the duration of that encounter. The berserker can only fly into a rage once per encounter. Entering a rage takes no time itself, but the berserker can only do it during his action. Endless Berserk (Ex): Starting at 8th level a Berserker can prolong his rage if the combat lasts too long, if his Berserker Rage was to end, on the turn it end he can spend an extra use of his Berserker Rage to prolong it for a new full duration, he does not feel the tiring effects until the end of this new rage, he can continue to prolong the rage as long as que has rages, at the end of this prolongation he becomes exhausted instead.
