Berserk Fighter (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Berserk Fighter[edit]
Fighter Subclass
Fighters who have gone down this path are those who've come to admire and be inspired at the rage and ferocity that a Barbarian can bring onto their foes. Insistent on learning and developing the use of rage as a weapon, Berserk Fighters are those who've come to develop their own way or even copy from the Barbarians themselves the art of channeling their hatred into their fighting to bring about the end of their foes.
Channel Hatred[edit]
Starting at 3rd level, you have learned to channel your hatred and fury into your strikes. You may now go into Channel Hatred using a Bonus action, using all of you anger as fuel for your combat prowess as you gain the following benefits for 1 minute, of which it can end early by using a Bonus action, having not attacked or been attacked for one turn, or have been incapacitated.
- While making a melee attack, you gain an additional 1d4 to your damage rolls. This increases to 1d6 at 7th Level, 1d8 at 10th Level, 1d10 at 15th Level, and 1d12 at 18th Level.
- When you make your first attack on your turn, you can decide to attack recklessly. Doing so gives you advantage on all melee weapon attack rolls during this turn, but attack rolls against you have advantage until your next turn.
You can use this feature an amount of times equal to your Proficiency modifier, of which you regain all uses after a long rest.
Tactical Hatred[edit]
Starting at 6th level, you have grown accustomed to the use of rage and hatred in combat and can now use tactics amidst your rage to further bring about the downfall of your foes. While under the effects of Channel Hatred and after landing a successful melee weapon attack, you can forego damage in exchange for inflicting the creature with one of the following effects:
- Knocking the creature prone, of which he is unable to stand up until the end of your next turn.
- Blind or render the creature unable to speak until the end of your next turn.
- Knock the creature back 10ft.
Enduring Hatred[edit]
Starting at 10th level, your hatred is not quenched so easily and can only end either on your terms by the destruction of your enemy. Your Channel Hatred now lasts for 10 minutes and can only be ended early if you choose to do so with a Bonus action or have been incapacitated.
Agitating Hatred[edit]
Starting at 15th level, you have become ever more vindictive, so much so that the sight of your enemies is enough to rouse your hatred. Your Channel Hatred now regains all uses after a short or long rest.
The Beacon of Hatred[edit]
Starting at 17th level, your hatred has grown to the point that your presence alone is enough to enrage those around you. When using your Channel Hatred feature, all allied creatures within 50ft of you would gain benefits equal to your Channel Hatred feature at 3rd Level. This effect would last as long as you are under the effects of Channel Hatred and would end once no longer under said effects.
