<Beholderbane>[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

Beholders, descendants from the Far Lands. Everything they interact with warps to their own twisted needs. Their own minds are against them, dreaming up horrible fate after horrible fate, getting worse and worse with age. However, occasionally a Beholder may dream of a lone hero. This hero, may be on the other side of the world, will one day kill the Beholder (known as the Ancestor in this context). The Ancestor's dream will summon up a crude form of a humanoid. Their size and body type varies much, but they all share certain attributes. They have multiple eyes, all surrounding their craniums. The number varies, but can be from three to twelve. Their crude build is shown in their looking like made of pure uncut stone, with no mouths to speak of. Some are a sickly green, or a rough orange, but most are brown-red.

History[edit]

Once an Ancestor begins their Bane dream, the Bane will begin to form on a random section of land. Depending on how fearful the Ancestor is during this dream, the closer the Beholderbane will be. The Beholderbane will spend most of it's life attempting to slay the Beholder that birthed it. The Bane will never act in a way that does not benefit it's main goal.

Society[edit]

Beholderbane are not very emotional. Much like Lizardfolk, they do not feel true emotions. They have no spoken or written language, but they do have a modified form of Deep Speech. Called R'klu (roo-kloo), this language consists of echoing clicks and trills that emanate from the Beholderbane's frontal lobe. Beholderbane do not have any view of social hierarchy or class. In fact, most Banes have not seen one another. Rarely a group of Beholderbane may group together to help kill their own Ancestors. Once one of the Bane's ancestors is killed, that Bane will leave the group and go into hiding. It is not known what a Beholderbane does after this.
