Physical Description[edit]
Beeforged resemble warforged from the outside, however instead of being empty like a warforged, a beeforged is filled with a beehive and composed mostly of wood, but it can be made of metal too.
History[edit]
No one knows how and when it was created, but it is said that they were created by the gods as protectors of nature and bees.
Society[edit]
Most beeforged are as well-liked as warforged, although some people tend to keep their distance for obvious reasons.
Beeforge Names[edit]
They tend to take a name like Bumblebee or Buzz or from the race of their creator.
Beeforged Traits[edit]
Bee-filled, enormous living structures.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution increases by 2.
Age. Theoretically, they live forever, nobody is sure.
Alignment. Beeforged are often Neutral, but tend to follow the alignment of their creator.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Your flight speed is 25 feet while in Swarm Form.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Mostly Bees. Your physical form is the husk of a construct, animated by a whole swarm. This gives you disadvantage to Stealth checks. If you are conscious, your body's low, persistent buzzing immediately alerts creatures that can hear within 5 feet of you to your presence.
The Numbing Sting. As an action, you can telepathically order a single wasp/bee/hornet to fly out of you and attack a creature within 40 ft, dealing 1d6 + your Constitution modifier piercing damage. The target must succeed a DC (8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus) Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for the duration. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Constitution saving throw. On a success, condition ends. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus.
Living Construct. Even though you were constructed, you are a living creature. You are immune to poison and disease. You do not need to breathe, eat, drink, or sleep. Instead of sleeping, you enter an inactive state for 4 hours each day. You do not dream in this state; you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal. You cannot be rendered unconscious through any means. You gain a +1 bonus to your AC.
Swarm Form. Because you are comprised of multiple tiny creatures, it is easier for you to escape being grappled. Using your action, you can dissipate the swarms inside you and escape a grapple or navigate difficult terrain. However, any armor or objects are left behind, and you cannot attack or interact with objects in your Swarm Form. A beeforged may remain in swarm form a number of rounds equal to its Constitution modifier or, if you're not in combat, as long as you want. Every round thereafter, you take 1d4 damage until you return to your humanoid form.
Languages. You can read, write, and speak Common and one language of your choice. You also have the ability to telepathically communicate with the wasps/bees/hornets inside of you.
Subrace. Subraces are based on the insect living inside, there are Wasps, Honey Bees, and Hornet.
Wasp[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity is increased by 2.
Wasp Eyesight. Your wasps are observant. You are proficient in Perception and gain a +2 bonus to your passive Perception.
Wasp Nest. You release multiple swarms to attack one creature(uses an attack action) (one swarm at a time per turn). This always hits and deals 1d4 damage. Attaching five of your swarms on a creature causes them to become blinded, and deaf, due to the obstruction of wasps and their loud, overlapping buzzing. The affected creature can make a DC (8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus) Dexterity saving throw to to try and shake off the wasps at the start of each of their turns. On a success, they escape all the swarms attached. Your swarms focus on staying with the target when using this feature; this causes all attacks against the creature to deal half damage. If your swarm is attached to an object, they can carry the object if it weighs 5 lbs or less, but, they cannot attack with weapons; each additional swarm increases the carry weight limit another 5 lbs and objects may have any number of swarms attached to them.
Honeybee[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma is increased by 2.
Honey Maker. During a long rest, you can have your bees fill an empty bottle with honey. Consuming the honey is the equivalent of eating a ration and heals 2d6 hit points.
Deceptive Smell. The honey created in your body creates a very sweet scent. You are proficient in Persuasion.
Hornet[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength is increased by 2.
Hornet's Intimidation. Your hornets are very disconcerting. You are proficient in Intimidation.
Swarming Frenzy. The hornets inside of you work themselves into a frenzy. As a reaction, you add a +2 to damage roll and gain advantage on Strength saving throws until the end of your next turn. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier before needing to complete a long rest.
