The Bauernwehr is a long knife with a straight or slightly curved single-edged blade. It reminds a common machete in length and weight, but features a thicker blade, usually getting wider and wider towards the point. The Bauernwehr is the typical peasants and lumberjacks side-arm, useful to cut branches and ropes, to defend against wild beasts in the forest and, if necessary, to face enemies on the battlefield.
The Bauernwehr allows a +2 on damage rolls and checks to clear away brush, undergrowth or profession checks that involve harvesting plant stalks, canes, cracking coconuts, cutting food.
