Back-Alley (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Back-Alley[edit]
Whether you grew up on the streets or you were once a knight to a great cause, you now live in the gutter and have to fend for yourself. Many of these fighters had hard lives, making their way through bar fights and alley duels alike. One thing's for sure, they picked up on the tactics pretty quickly.
Bonus Proficiency[edit]
You are proficient in Improvised Weapons.
Sneak Attack[edit]
You gain the sneak attack feature granted to the Rogue class. At 3rd level, this damage equals 1d6 and increases by 1d6 at 7th, 15th, and 18th levels.
Taunt[edit]
At 3rd level, you may choose to taunt a hostile creature, forcing them to attack you. As a bonus action, make a Charisma (Persuasion) check against the target’s Wisdom (Insight) check. You and the target must share a language for them to understand the taunt. On a failed check, the creature has disadvantage on attacking anybody but you until the end of its next turn and must spend it’s action attempting to attack you. If the target misses its attack against you, the next attack you make on your turn can apply your sneak attack damage if it hits as long as you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll.
Pocket Sand[edit]
Beginning at 7th level, using one of your attack actions, you may choose to shine light off your blade or throw dust, dirt, sand, or some other substance into the eyes of a creature you’re fighting. The creature must make a Constitution saving throw equal to 8+ your proficiency bonus+ your Strength or Dexterity modifier. On a failed save, the creature is blinded for one minute. On subsequent turns, they can attempt another save, ending this effect on a success. You may do this a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of 1) and regain all expended uses after completing a short or long rest.
Icepick Grip[edit]
At 15th level, you may choose to use your Strength modifier for your melee Sneak Attack attack rolls and damage rolls. Additionally, your sneak attacks score a critical hit on a 19-20. You are also able to perform a sneak attack with any melee weapon that doesn’t have the two-handed property.
Brutal Fighter[edit]
Beginning at 18th level, when you use your Action Surge feature, you may utilize your Sneak Attack feature even if you already have this turn. Additionally, when you use your Second Wind feature, your next attack roll is made with advantage. You may use both options of this feature once before you must complete a long rest.
