Fallen dwarf warriors may arise as axebearer cataphractoi on battlefields where many of their lives were lost. Generally, the bloodier the battle, the more likely an axebearer cataphractoi is to rise, though other factors, such as whether the outcome was a victory or defeat or if the battle was especially historically significant also play a role. Still clad in heavy plate and clutching their axes and shields, these undead dwarves will typically remain near the place of their death and watch over their fallen comrades, though some find their way into dwarven tombs and catacombs. Many still believe they are still in the battles they died in, perceiving other creatures as enemies now long dead as memories and reality haze together. Undead Nature. An axebearer cataphractoi doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep. |
