Asoarix (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Asoarix[edit]
``A Harpy? You think i'm some cowardly sky hag? Yeah, no thanks!``
Pronunciation[edit]
Az-Oar-icks
Physical description[edit]
The Asoarix are a race far above their largely associated kin. Similar only in appearance to the dreadful Harpies, the Asoarix are a more "conscious" race of avian bird-like humans. The Asoarix mainly also tend to be more attractive than harpies, with the women being slender, curvy, busty, and well built. And the men being muscular, toned, and even sometimes ferociously handsome.
Attached to the body, starting close to the shoulder blade the Asoarix's wings put the typical harpy to shame in both size as well as beauty. Their wings can fold up surprisingly well and each feather can be manipulated since birth/hatching. Most wings have a small tallon or hand on the outer edge so that they can carry decently small items, or use both wings to hold other specific items like backpacks, plates, even cradling another creature. Besides their arms, their legs also carry the blunt of their abnormal physical traits, possessing large talons and more hardened skin starting below the knee or near the lower thighs. These Talons are not only extremely large and sharp, but the digits are surprisingly dexterous and able to make gestures and carry more complex objects.
Other than that, some individuals have tail feathers sprouting around the tailbone region, have abnormally sharp teeth, and posses Elf-like and/or feathered ears. Traits can vary wildly from person to person with a few even having a separated pair of arms and wings.

History[edit]
Asoarix share similar heritage with the largely feared harpies but tend to despise the said race. They are well known to often spit insults at even the mention of a harpy. In truth when a Asoarix is disliked in a community or group they are often referred to at the "Harpy of the flock" or other brutal names as a form of slang. Asoarix tend to also be very prideful in their reputations and in acts to show humans the difference of their kind they welcome people to their villages and save those foolish enough to stray from designated hiking paths.
Society[edit]
Asoarix are mainly known to live in the mountains, though this is true, many can live in almost any region in the world such as cave systems, forests, deserts, jungles, and even the occasional city. Respectively, the Asoarix Seem to adapt to every region that they choose to call home. The Asoarix race is very well known to form villages, the leader of these villages is called a "lord" or also known as the village chief, they take care of the village and it's responsibilities. though, further up in the highest mountain of the world, There is a rather large village of Asoarix, That is known to them as the capital city. It houses a royal family and even it's own allies, such as other avian races like the Aarakocra & Avariel.
Asoarix Names[edit]
The Asoarix sometimes name their children after their home environment, some even taking names in other languages. Most are normaly all traced back in relation to the sky though.
