While swords are still the most commonplace weapon on most shards, the Palantium Empire's Arkana Handgun is standard issue throughout the military, used most frequently by officers and other lightly armed soldiers.
Solidly built from a single molded piece of steel, the guns are outfitted with focusing crystals and regulators, depending on the desired power output. A gun is powered by a single mana crystal which slides into the side, which powers it for up to one hundred shots before requiring a new one. Loading a new crystal is a move action. Additional crystals cost 50 gp each.
