More information...

Aranae is a mysterious goddess, and her purpose is not entirely known. It is believed that she is neutral in the war of Lolth versus Arachne, although her motivations are completely unknown. It is theoried that she wishes to unite both sides (although for what purpose she may wish this has not been guessed), but it is also theorised that she wishes no part in the war, or to end it in some way.

Dogma[edit]

Other than insisting on the reverence of spiderkind from her worshipers, her actual wishes are quite obscure. Some of her followers believe that she wishes to unite the spider queens (and thus are usually drow who believe strength in unity), whiler others believe that she wishes an end to the war.

Clergy and Temples[edit]

Aranae's temples are exceedingly rare. The few temples she does have are modelled on spiders with much web-like architecture. Her clerics are all female and usually wear robes of silk, although few people have actally seen any of her clerics.

The Truth of Aranae[edit]

In truth, Aranae is not as she appears to be. Aranae is an elaborate guise of Lolth which she uses to trick neutral drow into destroying her enemies and those of her drow that she deems weak before sending them to their deaths. Only Lolth and her most trusted followers (which probably number less than ten) are aware of this.
