From Legend of the Cryptids

A lone succubus, seeking refuge from the swarming commonfolk, enters a nearby ruined building. She enters past the tall doors that creak with an effort-filled push, and closes them behind her. She floats past rotting seats and broken stone as the moonlight shines through gaps of the once great cathedral's roof. She hides, panicked, behind a decrepit altar at the back of the room hoping they pass and leave her alone.

"Why?" She cries, "I don't wish to hurt anyone." As she peaks over the ruined altar upon hearing footsteps and shouting nearby, she sees an individual standing over the other side in prayer. She quickly darts back behind only to hear heavy footfalls approach her position. The individual leans over her form and extends a hand, frightening the succubus into lashing out with her fiendish claws. Yet the individual, who she now sees is towering above her, has giant bird-like white wings, a body armoured in heavy plate with blonde hair and blue eyes.

"An angel?" The succubus thinks to herself. In that instant, the succubus feels calm, forgetting about the impending mob outside and takes the angelic being's hand. A warm glowing energy pulses down the angel's arm and up through the succubus' form until it reaches her chest. With a bright flash, the succubus falls unconscious, whereupon waking she finds herself under daylight. She looks about and no mob is to be heard. Looking down, she now sees she has changed: her once semi-reddish skin is now that of a normal tan of a human, her demonic bat-like wings are now feathered and white. She checks her head and behind to see that her demonic looking horns and tail are still present and she is confused as to why they're there. After some time, she collects herself and her thoughts to sit in prayer hoping this angelic individual would answer, much to her surprise a voice rang out in her mind. It explained what had happened and now what it wished for her to do, should she choose to do so. Upon gaining an understanding, the newly formed angelic succubus pledged herself to this angelic individual and set out on a path of change, to make the world a better place.

Physical Description[edit]

Angelic succubi/incubi at first glance may confuse a person because they don't look like the usual fiends of pleasure at all. Instead of bat wings, they have angelic feather wings, ranging in color from black to white ruffage. Angelic succubi/incubi lack their usual fiendish claws. While they retain the fiendish horns upon their head and demonic tail on their behind, they are not classified just as fiends any longer, crossing the border between Celestial and Fiend, becoming instead categorized as Humanoid. If slightly reddish, crimson or discolored from their previous form, the individual instead changes to that of more of a human skin tone: becoming either more brown, tan, fairer or any other hue found among humans, elves, dwarves, angels, ect. in complexion. Their eyes also change so demonic slits are lessened and the color is no longer red or an obvious fiendish eye, sometimes changing to brown, blue or green, sometimes purple if they're planetouched. In terms of behavior, they tend to lean towards that of a human, being adaptable and constantly learning, no longer heavily bound to lustiness. However, due to the original fiendish nature still within them, they experience lust for certain individuals almost like an itch that needs to be scratched. Angelic succubi and incubi also lack the capability to shapechange.

History[edit]

Demons created of pleasure and desire, particularly succubi and incubi being the best known examples, are undoubtedly the poster child for anti-heavenly qualities. They are voluptuous, lusting and covetous creatures who think impurely and lack discipline or purity in demeanor. They are wholly disgusting for their obsession and crazed minds with sexual innuendo and everlasting fount of lust. They elicit and spread this mindset to others and charm them to be as wanton and lawless as they.

Angelic succubi/incubi are very different from their counterparts since conception and creation. While they are created from sexual dreams like others, they harbor stronger restraint, possibly from the mind of their original dreamer. They also show innate desires to not only connect physically, but also spiritually and emotionally with others, which is unheard of in lusting minds of succubi and incubi regularly. These deviants are commonly outcasts among their original kin for their unwillingness often to seduce and make love wantonly. This pushes them further from their original fiendish tendencies and often they wander without purpose.

It is at this time of odyssey that history records angels appearing to these individuals and offering them release from their mystification. They are granted a partial lift from their usual predetermined disposition and given feathered wings to replace their bat-like ones, which can get lighter and lighter, allowing them to enter the heavens if they proved themselves further to be heavenly minded individuals instead of their inner fiends. Until the day they gain completely redemption from their nature, however, the wings would not heed commands to fly and can mostly save oneself from falling at most. These individuals are thus reformed and changed fiends who no longer can be associated wholly with their original kin. Angelic succubi and incubi thus start a new life often and go about trying to help better the world and eschew their lusty origins. Their appearance becomes fixated on this form and they no longer can change to beguile and deceive others. They become wholly changed.

There are two ways through which angelic succubi/incubi are born rather than just changed like in the method above. If a succubus or incubus is able to tolerate a radiant being and make love with them, there is a chance they will be able to birth an angelic incubus or succubus. In this case, they are already born with lighter skin, different eyes, and angelic wings. This is rare since fiends are very adverse to radiant beings as a rule of thumb.

The second, almost even rarer birth, is if an angel dirties his or her mind and dreams of a sexual fantasy, which will then birth an angelic succubus or incubus. Because angels are often stringent followers of their laws, their restraint translates into their dream succubus/incubus' hesitance and aversion to wholly flesh-based relationships. Angelic succubi or incubi born this way are very unlikely to survive since the angel who dreamt them will often try and hunt them to conceal their sin of coveting in the mind. These angels often end up becoming fallen angels.

Society[edit]

The individuals who are chosen tend to lead solo lives, roaming the land in the name of the goodness of angels, helping those in need and even punishing those they were formerly akin to. The same is true of those not chosen and changed, but born. They will spend a lot of time reflecting often and praying to keep their desires at bay. They are a race which believes in redemption and second chances, as well as salvation for all. They will often try to convince others to even join their causes or declared churches.

Angelic succubi/incubi who are born instead of changed or reformed number in the few and so only small covens exist. They readily accept newcomers, offering a place to rest from their long journeys of goodwill. Due to their still semi-fiendish appearance, the more common folk still view them as demons, whereas the more astute may see the differences. They are seen as traitors by fiends and often still unclean by a majority of the radiant community. As such, they are a race of outcasts who try to still do good in a world which rejects them.

Angelic Succubi/Incubi Names[edit]

Despite their reformation, angelic succubi/incubi end up often keeping their old names from their original lives as demons of pleasure. They reserve a space in their minds for a more angelic name the day they reach the pearly gates. Those born angelic are given more heavenly or Celestial names.
