Famous for their spiral shells, ammonites are a common sight in warmer waters. Posing little threat to anyone, these molluscs are generally treasured for their beautiful pearly shells. Ammonites tend to hunt in schools, preferring safety in numbers to defend themselves from the many predators around them. Lone ammonites are a rare sight, and a very temporary one.
