Explosive Retaliation. When this is reduced to 0 hit points, it releases a burst of energy. Each creature within 15 feet must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) radiant damage on a failed save or half as much on a success.

Magic Resistance. Aegis Reflector has advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Aegis Reflector can make two melee attacks.

Electro Shock. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d8 + 2) lightning damage.

Charge Beam (Recharge 5–6). Aegis Reflector emits a concentrated energy beam in a 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in the line must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 22 (4d10) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

REACTIONS

Arcane Reprisal. When the Aegis Reflector is targeted by a magic attack, it can use its reaction to reflect part of the energy back at the attacker. The Aegis Reflector takes the full damage from the attack but the attacker must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the attacker takes radiant damage equal to half the damage dealt to the Aegis Reflector. On a successful save, the attacker takes no additional damage.

Reflective Retaliation. When the Aegis Reflector is hit by a melee attack, it can use its reaction to reflect a portion of the damage back at the attacker. The attacker takes radiant damage equal to half of the damage dealt to the Aegis Reflector. The Aegis Reflector still takes the full damage from the melee attack.

Aegis Reflectors are intelligent, radiant energy constructs built to protect high-value locations or important individuals. They often appear as metallic beings with reflective surfaces that are able to bounce attacks back at their assailants. They emit a constant hum of energy, and in the event of their destruction, unleash powerful bursts of radiant energy.

Environment:

  • Arctic: Could be used as a sentinel in harsh, icy environments, protecting sacred sites or ancient ruins.
  • Urban: Designed as a guardian for cities or magical complexes, it could be deployed to defend against rogue magical forces or threats.
  • Mountain: It could serve as a high-altitude sentinel, guarding ruins or relics in treacherous mountain terrain.
  • Underdark: Suited for the dark and dangerous Underdark, where its resilience and radiant abilities would be highly valued in guarding important locations or creatures.
