Adaptive Shield (3.5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
Adaptive Shield [General]
You can temporarily negate the effects of a single creature's abilities or spells.
Prerequisite: 3 ranks in the Adaptation Division of Vessel Magic; alternatively, 3 levels in any class
Benefit: Once per day, you can choose one creature within 60 feet. For 3 turns, you gain immunity to one of that creature’s abilities, spells, or effects of your choice. This ability can be used a number of times per day equal to your ranks in the Adaptation Division of Vessel Magic.
If you do not have ranks in the Adaptation Division, you can still use this ability if you have a minimum of 3 levels in any class. In this case, the number of uses per day is reduced to once.
During the duration, if the chosen ability is used against you, it fails and has no effect.Normal: Without this ability, characters cannot negate the effects of another creature's abilities.
Special: The immunity granted by this feat does not extend to abilities or effects that are area-of-effect or not targeted directly at you.
