Proficiency with ropes allows you to add your proficiency bonus to any ability checks you make to craft, repair, or dismantle ropes and objects made of rope such as nets, traps, ladders, and bridges. In addition, you can add your proficiency bonus to ability checks made when interacting with rope, such as when attempting to remove bindings, climbing with ropes, or crossing unstable rope bridges. Finally, you add your proficiency bonus plus your Strength or Dexterity modifier to the DC of any ability checks made by a creature to free itself or another creature from bindings, traps, or nets you have made with rope.
  • You can make bindings or release any bindings you have made as a bonus action. In addition, you can use rope or a net to restrain a grappled creature as a bonus action.
