Follower of Bestia (3.5e Feat)

From D&D Wiki

Revision as of 00:38, 2 July 2016 by Jwguy (talk | contribs) (Minor increase. Grants proficiency with shortbows, longbows, and crossbows... and before it becomes an issue, Tirr uses a variant rule for weapon proficiency, anyways.)

Follower of Bestia [General, Roleplaying]

You worship Bestia, the Goddess of Beasts and the Hunt; Your fervor has made you self-sufficient.
Prerequisite: Must be Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Evil, Chaotic Good or Neutral; Must worship Bestia
Benefit: You gain a +4 competence bonus to Survival and Handle Animal checks. You also gain proficiency in shortbows, longbows, and crossbows. Furthermore, if you have the Track feat, your Track DC is lessened by 5.

As the Goddess of the Hunt and of Beasts, Bestia serves as a vital, but chaotic force in the events of Tirr's material plane. She rejected the Oath of the Pantheon and became an Aesir because she wanted to be part of a world without the new restrictions that the Pantheon aimed to create.
Those who devote themselves to the philosophy of Bestia are self-sufficient hunters and gatherers, who often find themselves at home in the forests and plains, hunting and tracking wild game and foraging for supplies. These people subscribe to a doctrine of natural law; The strong survive, and the weak feed the strong. This is not to say that they have no moral compass, but that they value their own ability to survive, and practice it regularly.
