I'm in a 3.5 game where my character is a Weretiger and is currently grappled by two guards and one of her alies (Who has apparently turned against them) is trying to put some sort of collar on her. (Mind you he is a Plaadin and she is a 16 year old Rouge who doesn't want to hurt anyone, though when she turns outside of her will she is chaotic evil, but that doesn't happen a lot) She has a...um we'll call him challenged Blink Dog as a pet that she can talk to. I was wondering if the Blink dog could in any way blink her to the other side of the room, I thought perhaps if he bit her to kind of drag her trough the Ethereal Plane. Please help. I haven't found anything against it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.245.55.104 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

The description of blink dog says that it can use blink per the spell. The spell description of blink lists range: personal, so the blink dog would only be able to use it on himself, and has no way to apply it to his master. JazzMan 15:16, 26 October 2011 (MDT)
Unless it is actually a familiar or animal companion, which Share Spells would pass the spell. --Ganre 15:27, 26 October 2011 (MDT)
I don't think that would work either, because it's a one-way link going the wrong way: "At the master’s option, he may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) he casts on himself also affect his familiar." So that would work only if the rogue is the blink dog's familiar. Though even then, the blink dog does not necessarily cast the spell blink, he has a supernatural ability to use it. I think it would be a DM's call if a leveled blink dog could share blink with his familiar. PLUS, even if the DM ruled that this was ok, he would have to move into melee and make a touch attack on his familiar to share the spell! JazzMan 17:48, 26 October 2011 (MDT)
