This content intends to provide a different experience, or goes beyond the scope of the anticipated subjects and situations, than the 5e rules were intended to handle. Some portions of the content below may not be what you expect from traditional game content. When implementing this content, DMs and Players should read over all the information carefully, and consider the following specific notes of interest:
This material makes a character capable of passive invisibility, so DMs should take note of that fact. Situations which assume that the character must make effort to obscure their presence to remain unnoticed may not be significant challenges to a character using this material. Challenges of these sorts are, however, an excellent tool to highlight the character's advantage. One should be cautious to include challenges which are actually capable of threatening such a character regularly; such as creatures that can sense the character's smell, heart beat, or thoughts; or environmental effects which would reveal them like ambient smoke/steam/dust, being covered in ink, tripwires and alarms, or barriers which must be moved- like doors; but without punishing the player or coming across as a gimmick. Be careful about who is allowed to use this material, as immature players will likely abuse this to derail the campaign. As should be standard, such players should be dealt with outside-of-game through open communication, but it is often best to avoid the situation in the first place. New players often have difficulties visualizing themselves as another person, let alone another creature capable of existing in a state that they themselves will never experience. As such, if a new player is allowed to use this material, they may need some degree of guidance to remember that their character can go unseen without effort, and may in fact be invisible at any given moment, though it should only take a few sessions to really drive the point home.

Voidwalker

Physical Description

Voidwalkers are all invisible humanoids. There is no obvious way to tell the difference between a voidwalker and an invisible human. Voidwalkers tend to carry a variety of masks to wear when interacting with non-voidwalkers, as well as wearing lots of heavy clothing. Voidwalkers try to vary up their appearance with unique, hand-crafted accessories as it is hard to tell the difference between two voidwalkers otherwise.

History

All voidwalkers are descended from a guild of assassins. They worked in secret to concoct the ultimate Invisibility spell. And after a generation of work, they succeeded, forming a ritual that fundamentally altered their biology, making them and their descendants permanently invisible. Over time they became less of an assassin's guild, only taking jobs to support themselves, and forming new sub-guilds spread out across the land.

Society

Nowadays, voidwalkers live communally. They live in small villages, sometimes even inside one single large building, and often very close to human civilizations. voidwalkers almost never know their biological parents, as its impossible to tell one voidwalker baby from another and all adults in a voidwalker community raise every child as if they were their own. As such, every voidwalker considers every other voidwalker in their community to be a family member. To avoid accidental incest, voidwalkers often take on human lovers, as a human and a voidwalker will always create a voidwalker baby.

Voidwalker Names

Voidwalker names are all unisex. They are most often one or two words in Common, a tradition that started with assassins choosing aliases for themselves. Voidwalkers name themselves as soon as they are able to but often don't decide on a permanent name until they are older.

Voidwalker Names: Shadowed One, Keeper, Secret Taker, Spider, Lizard, Quick Pace

Voidwalker Traits

Basically you're the invisible man.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity and Wisdom scores each increase by 1.
Age. Voidwalkers age and mature at the same rate that humans do.
Alignment. Voidwalkers have a fairly wide spread of alignments. Communal living shifts them away from evil and towards chaotic.
Size. Voidwalkers tend to have a similar height and weight to humans. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Invisibility. Voidwalkers are permanently invisible, but this does not extend to their equipment or armor. If they are completely naked and weaponless, they are treated as affected by an invisibility spell. If they break Invisibility by acting, they appear as a visible semi-translucent misty form, and their invisibility returns after one minute. If they are carrying a weapon, they may be mistaken for a flying weapon. The dispel magic spell also forces the voidwalker to become visible for one minute, and affects such as a antimagic field do so for as long as the voidwalker stays in it. Voidwalker blood is also invisible.
Master of Disguise. You have proficiency with disguise kits. Voidwalkers often carry makeup and wigs to disguise as non-voidwalkers, and if they have these they do not roll at disadvantage to disguise as other races.
Silent Casting. Voidwalkers can cast spells without using a verbal component. As such, they can cast spells without breaking from stealth, or when affected by silence.
Extended Invisibility. Starting at 5th level, you can cast the invisibility spell once with this trait and only on yourself, requiring no material components, and you regain the ability to cast it this way when you finish a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
