Vulpix are prized for their lovely coats and their multiple tails which keep splitting off as they grow and some people believe that the fire that the vulpix exhale may be a departed spirit. Alolan vulpix were once known as keokeo, and some older folk still use that name. Vulpix and Alolan vulpix ae very similar creatures, the only difference being that one is ice and the other is fire. They are very playful creatures, but also fairly careless. At times, you must be careful of an excited vulpix so that it won't either freeze you into an ice cube or light you on fire. Vulpix are found in the forests while alolan vulpix tend to stay in the mountains. |
Vulpix Variant (Alolan)
Alolan vulpix are similar to kantonian vulpix, but are frost elementals instead of fire elementals. Use the vulpix stat block to represent them, but instead of the normal immunity and vulnerability, the Alolan vulpix is immune to cold damage and vulnerable to fire damage and know Auran in place of Ignan. Additionally it loses the Flash Fire trait and replaces it with the Snow Cloak trait below, and gains the aurora beam attack below in place of its flame burst attack.
Snow Cloak. Whenever the vulpix is subjected to cold damage, it takes no damage, and instead, its next attack deals an additional 9 (2d8) cold damage.
