Envoy

Creating an Envoy


Quick Build

You can make an Envoy quickly by following these suggestions. First, Charisma should be your highest ability score, followed by either Wisdom/Intelligence (for a skill-/occult-oriented character) or Consitution (for a combat-oriented. Second, choose the Entertainer, Sage or Soldier background.

Class Features

As a Envoy you gain the following class features.

Hit Points

Hit Dice: 1d8 per Envoy level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 1d8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Envoy level after 1st

Proficiencies

Armor: Light armor
Weapons: Simple Weapons
Tools: One type of gaming set, and one type of musical instrument.
Saving Throws: Charisma (See specialization for second)
Skills: Persuation and Deception, plus one from the following list: Arcana, Intimidation, Investigation, Medicine.

Equipment

You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • (a) Leather Armor or (b) Hide Armor (If profient)
  • (a) A dagger or (b) One simple weapon or (c) A shortsword (If profient)
  • (a) One gaming set of your choice or (b) One musical instrument of your choice or (c) An arcane/druidic focus (if occultist)
  • If you are using starting wealth, you have 4d4x10gp, plus 1d4x5sp. in funds.

Speciality

At 1st level, you chose a speciality. Choose between Instructor, Tactian and Occultist, detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at 1st level and again at 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th and 20th levels.

Ability Score Increase

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
