Goliath (Dawncaller)

Goliaths that hold the honorific "Dawncaller" are bards responsible for guarding their tribe throughout the night. They patrol the perimeter of a sleeping goliath camp in the dead of night, keeping the any dangers of the mountains away while the other goliaths rest. Just before dawn breaks, they awaken the rest of the tribe by singing anthems of Goliath courage and virtue. Because dawncallers must have the ability to play music competently, nearly all of them have at least a few levels in bard. They often multiclass into ranger, barbarian, or fighter as well, because dawncallers are often a goliath tribe’s first line of defense, the vast majority of tribes have 1-6 dawncallers because of this. They are rarely found apart from their tribe, although some dawncallers end up leaving their tribe for various reasons, such as exile or being left behind due to injury, old age, or sickness. Some of them leave of their own volition to see what the world at the lower altitudes is like.
