Earthborne Bloodline

Sorcerous Origin

"Children of nature, Mother Gaia gifts upon you the power to bend the world, taking back the world from those who would corrupt and poison it."

These sorcerers draw their power from nature itself. Unlike the magic of the Feywild, the Positive Planes, Negative Planes, or the chaotic power of the Weave, this magic is not tied to any god or sentient entity. The natural power of land, sea, and sky is untamed, meant to be harnessed by the true children of Gaia.

Natural Magicks

Starting at 1st level, you gain access to the Druid spell list.

Child of Gaia

Starting at 1st level, you select one of the domains of nature and gain a benefit specific to that natural domain. The domains are as follows:

  • Land:

Your armor class is increased to 15 if it would be lower otherwise. In addition, you learn the shield and shield of faith spells. These are Sorcerer spells for you and do not count against your known spells.

  • Sea:

You gain a swimming speed equal to your walk speed and can breath under water. In addition, you learn the create or destroy water and cure wounds spells. These are Sorcerer spells for you and do not count against your known spells.

  • Sky:

Your base walking speed increases by 10 feet. In addition, you learn the fog cloud and witch bolt spells. These are Sorcerer spells for you and do not count against your known spells.

Gaia's Might

Starting at 6th level, your attunement to your natural domain strengthens, granting you greater control over it.

  • Land:

The burning power of primordial lava flows through you. You become resistant to fire damage. In addition, whenever you cast a sorcerer or druid spell or cantrip that deals fire damage, you may expend 1 sorcery point to cause that spell to deal maximum damage.

  • Sea:

The raging hunger of the sea is instilled within you. You become resistant to cold damage. In addition, whenever you cast a sorcerer or druid spell or cantrip that deals cold damage, you may choose to expend 1 sorcery point to cause that spell to deal maximum damage.

  • Sky:

The roaring winds of the sky fill your lungs and permeate your being. You become resistant to lightning damage. In addition, whenever you cast a sorcerer or druid spell or cantrip that deals lightning damage, you may choose to expend 1 sorcery point to cause that spell to deal maximum damage.

Natural Binding

Starting at 14th level, whenever you cast a sorcerer or druid spell that deals the damage type associated to your natural domain, (fire for Earth, cold for Sea, and lightning for Sky) your spell attack bonus and spell save dc increase by 2.

In addition, whenever you or a creature within 20 feet of you takes cold, fire, or lightning damage, you may use your reaction and expend 2 sorcery points to reduce that damage by a value equal to your sorcerer level. You may target more than one creature with this feature, but must expend one additional sorcery point per each creature you choose to target. For example, if you and 3 allies within 20 feet of you were caught in a cone of cold, you could expend 5 sorcery points to shield all affected creatures.

Avatar of Gaia

Starting at 18th level, you become a wellspring of natural energies. Every friendly creature within 20 feet of you gains resistance to the damage type associated with your natural domain. (fire for Earth, cold for Sea, and lightning for Sky) In addition, every hostile creature that starts their turn within 20 feet of you, or enters that area of effect for the first time, takes damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) of the type associated with your natural domain.
