Way of the Empty Hand

Monk Subclass

The Ultimate Truth

Is what we seek

With our head low,

Our eyes high

And our mouths shut.

Modesty, Ambition, Serenity, Perseverance.

Ambition

Your journey comes with harsh winds and swift obstacles, don't just strike fast, strike hard. At third level you can add your Strength modifier along with your Dexterity modifier to the damage of your unarmed strikes.

Modesty

Keep your head low, your strength is not your pride and your pride is your own, the truth lies within oneself, and oneself is made by others. At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Insight skill.

Perseverance

Avoiding everything that stunts growth and breaking everything in your way will cause you to stray, take in more experiences, find more truth in the world. At 6th level, you gain proficiency in Athletics and your hit point maximum increases by an amount equal to twice your level when you gain this feature. Whenever you gain a level thereafter, your hit point maximum increases by an additional 2 hit points.

Serenity

Your body is strong, but your mind is not, a still mind makes an iron body. At 11th level, add your Strength modifier to you AC (max +2) along with your Unarmored Defense, as long as you aren't wearing armor or shield and aren't frightened or charmed.

Truth

All living things like the darkness their cave provides after they're burned by the light of the sun, but we bathe in the sun and move its radiance wherever we go. At 17th level, you are no longer able to tell a lie, and therefore unable to make Charisma (Deception) skill checks, in doing so whenever you make an unarmed strike, you may take a -5 to your attack roll before your DM declares whether or not your attack hits to add either an extra martial arts die to your damage, a +5 to your next attack roll, or force them to make a Wisdom saving throw (Ki-save DC) or become shell-shocked, becoming frightened and blinded as long as you're within line of sight.
