Large undead, lawful neutral Armor Class 17 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Con +7, Wis +4 Dark Amorphous. The Shadow Soldier can fit through a space as narrow as 1 inch without squeezing as long as both it and the space are in dim light or darkness. Shadow Stealth. While in dim light or darkness, the Shadow Soldier can take the Hide action as a bonus action. ACTIONSMultiattack. The Shadow Soldier makes two Shadow Greatsword attacks. Shadow Greatsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage +5 (1d10) necrotic damage. Shadow Spear. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft. or range 20/60ft., one target. Hit: 18 (4d6 + 4) piercing damage +5 (1d10) necrotic damage. Battle Cry (Recharge 6). The Shadow Soldier releases a terrible shriek, then chooses up to five other Shadow Soldiers it can see within 60ft of it that can hear it. Each of those Shadow Soldiers can use their reaction to make a melee weapon attack.

Shadow Soldiers appear as tall humanoids clad in black shadowy armor. Tendrils of smoke curl from them as they move, and slits in their armor glow with eerie blue light. Summoned by powerful individuals called Shadow Monarchs, Shadow Soldiers serve their masters unquestioningly. Although they may begin their existence as mindless shades, Shadow Soldiers can develop personalities over time, often mimicking the actions and behavior of another creature who's presence they are often in, such as their master. The strongest type of Shadow Soldier, rank 4s and incredibly strong and powerful. Only summoned from the mightiest of fallen creatures, a rank 4 is also intelligent enough to command groups of Shadow Soldiers on its own, invigorating them with its fearsome battle cries. Undead Nature. The Shadow Soldier doesn't need to eat, sleep, drink, or breathe. |
