A shadow queen is the matriarch of the darkest beings in the universe, shadows. Believed to be put into place by the shadow himself, they are powerful shadows that have been promoted in a sense to leadership roles. They are normally female, though a few shadow kings have been in circulation. They take the form of what they were in life, for example, a human woman with jet-black hair, wearing a gown of shadows and armed with spells fueled by the darkness of her realm. While they are faster than the average human, they do not walk. Instead, they appear to hover in midair, almost as if they were flying at very low altitudes.
