The death worm is a sausage-like worm 2 to 5 feet long , and thick as a man’s arm, resembling the intestine of cattle. Its tail is short, as if it were cut off, but not tapered. It is difficult to tell its head from its tail because it has no visible eyes, or nostrils , and only a small fang-lined mouth at the tip. Its color is dark red, like blood, and it moves in odd ways – either it rolls around or squirms sideways, sweeping its way about. It lives in desolate sand dunes and in the hot valleys of the desert often near oases. The death worm spends most of its time in its underground burrow. Swarming out of the earth when it senses prey.

Death Worm Tactics
The death worm lives in small clutches, often near sources of water in the desert. They wait underground until prey moves within their area, they will then erupt from the ground encircling their target. They attack by using ‘’Acidic Spittle’’ as much as possible, and will use ‘’Burrowing Dodge’’ to avoid close combat.
Death Worm Lore
A character knows the following information with a successful Nature check.
- DC 20: Death worms are known to inhabit fertile areas within a desert. They use an acidic spray and a form of natural electrical discharge to attack their prey and defend themselves. Death worms digest the liquefied remains of their prey using their sucker-like mouth.
