As its name implies, the monstrous crocoduck shares traits with both crocodile and mallard. To the layman, it appears as though a somewhat undersized crocodile head was grafted onto a somewhat oversized body of a duck. Like both creatures of its namesake, it primarily dwells near the surface or just beneath the surface of freshwater. Ravenously, it ambushes prey both beneath the water's surface and along its shore. Indeed, it possesses the best hunting skills of both avian and reptilian. Similar to the more infamous owlbear, the origin of the monstrous crocoduck is quite mysterious. Most assume it to be the perverse experiments of a cold-hearted wizard. Some say such fell, foul fowl can't exist in nature. |
