Hopeless Pariah

Pariahs are the leaders of groups of Hopeless. Their anger at their fellow classmates runs deeper than the average member. Their thirst for revenge now flows through the divine spellcaster classes, granting them fire spells and destructive powers, plus abilities to convince others to join the Hopeless and effects that allow the Hopeless to act in secrecy easier.

Note: Some groups actually have their leader called a pariah despite the fact that the leader doesn't have any levels in pariah. So, any reference in this class description to a pariah refers to a pariah with acutal levels in Hopeless Pariah

Requirements

To qualify to become a Hopeless Pariah, a charcter must fulfill the following criteria.

  • Skills: Knowledge (any two except current events and popular culture) 12 ranks.

Diplomacy 12 ranks.

  • Special: Ability to cast 3rd-Level Divine Spells.

Must have an allegiance to the Hopeless.
Must destroy something or kill a creature for no reason whatsoever.

Action Points
Pariahs gain a number of action points equal to 6 plus one-half their character level, rounded down, every time they attain a level in this class.

Class Features

The following features pertain to the Hopeless Pariah prestige class.

Vile Affinity

The Hopeless Pariah adds the following spells to one of his divine caster classes' spell lists. If the class can spontaneously cast certain spells, these spells may be spontaneously cast as well. - 1st Level- Burning Hands
- 3rd Level- Fireball, Flaming Projectiles
- 4th Level- Wall of fire

Also, the Hopeless Pariah can count levels in Hopeless Pariah as caster levels in that divine class, or add them to the caster levels summed together by the Ecclesiarch

Destructive Strike

Destructive Strike (Su). A Pariah can unleash the destructive potential of his spells. As an attack action, a Hopeless Pariah can sacrifice spells in a destructive blast. The maximum number of levels sacrificed in a single strike is equal to his class level. Two sacrificed 0-level spells is considered one 1st-level spell. The Pariah makes a melee touch attack and deals 1d12 damage per spell level sacrificed on a successful (Will Save DC 14 + Pariah class level half) to the target. Anyone with an allegiance to the Hopeless gains a +4 bonus to the saving throw. Afterwards, for every 3 points of damage dealt with this effect, not counting the saving throw, the Pariah takes 1 damage. If the ability does not connect, then the force flies off harmlessly and doesn't damage the Pariah. All damage is pure destructive force, so Energy Resistance and DR does not apply.

Vile Spellslinger

At 2nd level, the divine caster class selected for Vile Affinity gains one bonus spell of each level that he can cast per day. This stacks with the Spellslinger Feat. At 4th level, he gains this ability again, adding another bonus spell per level to that same class.

Corrupt Youth

Corrupt Youth (Ex). At 2nd level, the Pariah gains a +4 competence bonus to Bluff and Diplomacy when using them against people younger than three years older than himself.

Pay No Attention

Pay No Attention (Su). At 3rd level, the Hopeless Pariah gains this supernatural ability to use 1 hr./ day. While he's using this ability, no one pays attention to the Pariah or a group of Hopeless in a 20' radius per level of Hopeless Pariah. This gives a penalty to listen, spot, and sense motive when used with a group with the Pariah, equal to the Pariah's class level. This does not give any bonuses to hide or move silently, but make any action by the Pariah and any Hopeless working with him look unimportant, and anyone who looks at them feel as if someone else should handle it.

This effect needs at least 3 full-round actions to start (which doesn't count against the time), but can be stopped as a free action. A Pariah may stop and start this effect as many times as they wish, as long as they haven't used their hour for the day. Any Hopeless in the group that attack end this effect, but the Pariah loses a minute of the effect any time the effect ends in this way.

Induce Persecution

Induce Persecution (Su). At 4th level, if the Pariah touches a person, he may put a curse on that person. This effect can only be used once per day. The curse can lay dormant for 1 day per class level, or until it's activated by the Pariah. Once activated, the target must make a Will Save (DC 15 + class level of Hopeless Pariah) or become suddenly panicked. This persists for 1 minute per class level of the Pariah or until any Hopeless Pariah dispels it as a free action. While this curse is laying dormant, the Pariah cannot inflict this curse on another person.

Pariahs use this ability to influence others to join the Hopeless, though it also works to scare off someone that's too nosy in Hopeless affairs.

Pariah's Gift.

At 5th level, the Hopeless Pariah can give any character with an allegiance to the Hopeless one of his spells for that character to cast. Mystics must choose a spell to give in this manner, as the innate selection of spells cannot be transfered. The Pariah gives that spell slot over to the character he's granted the power to. The spell's level can be up to one level higher than the highest level divine spell that character can cast (minimum 0-level), and the character must have a high enough wisdom score to cast it. For example, Hopeless Minions and Collectors (no spellcasting ability) can be granted one 0-level spell to cast, while Hopeless Initiates (start off with Divine Heritage) can be granted one 1st-level spell to cast, granted they have enough wisdom. This spell can be held until it is cast, though the Hopeless Pariah can reclaim the spell when he gains his spells for the day. If he doesn't, the Pariah loses one spell of that level when he regains spells.
