"The yellowish creature towers above you- standing at least 100 feet tall. The creature resembles a circle on three long, thin legs. Each leg ends in a mean point. The body, from what you can see, is the shape of a mango with a small head attatched at the front. Two cylinders, each about 5 feet long protrude from it. One is a simple cylinder, the other ends in a point. It bellows and the barrels point in your direction"
Striders are huge creatures occasionally used for conquest by powerful races who can manage to control them. Striders are rarely found together in nature.
Pulse Rifle (Ex)
As a standard action, a strider can fire six bolts of magical energy at a target that deals 2d6 damage per hit. This is usable at will.
Particle Cannon (Ex)
As a full round action, a strider can fire a blue beam of light at a target. It very rarely uses this for actual combat, but uses it instead to clear away debris in its path. In the event that one does use this formidable weapon in combat, it has the effect of a Disintegrate Spell on its target (Ref, not Fort to save), and a Fireball Effect on all within 20 feet as cast by a 20th level caster. A strider can use this once per minute.
Leg Skewers(Ex)
As a standard action, a strider can lift and drop one of its legs in attempt to kill an enemy. This is a touch attack.
Strategies and Tactics
A Strider always uses its pulse rifle against single targets or small groups. When it's faced with a large group (20+) it uses it's particle cannon to thin their numbers.
Single attack: Pulse rifle (+10 ranged touch, 2d6) and Leg (+14 melee, 4d6) Full attack: two Pulse rifles (+10 ranged touch, 2d6), one leg (+14 melee, 4d6)
