A person who crafts weapons is called a weapon smith. Metal worker is a generic term encompassing all metal craft, regardless of subject/function or material. I should know- I am a metal worker. Smiths forge metal by hand. A blacksmith works ferrous metals (iron and steel and their alloys) and a whitesmith works non-ferrous metals (typically tin, but technically other metals such as gold, silver, brass and bronze would be included). Over time, whitesmith came to refer to people who work tin plate almost exclusively, though this is a post-industrial term. --Kydo (talk) 21:40, 23 February 2016 (MST)

I am going to hammer out some of the finer details, and polish this up to a superior finish. --Kydo (talk) 00:45, 17 September 2016 (MDT)
