Silmarin

Slippery little things aren't they? But they don't usually mean any harm, and a coin or morsel of food is enough to get rid of most.
—Bhomar Sharpforge, human paladin.

Physical Description

Silmarin look like oozes, but they have the ability to take humanoid forms. In their ooze forms, they are slimy and green, vaguely resembling humanoids, though usually preferring to take the appearance of a flat oozy disc. In their humanoid forms, they have a thin slimy film over their skins that feels cool to the touch. When they speak, they tend to have voices somewhat reminiscent of water or slime trickling down a cave wall.

History

Silmarin have a long history of living in swamps and dark places. Countless rumours state that the first silmarin were either humans afflicted with a powerful curse, or regular oozes gifted with sentience, though scholars are almost always arguing about their origins.

Society

Silmarin society is usually tribal in nature and far from humanoids, as most races find the slimy silmarin unsettling at best, and abhorrent at worst. Some particularly debased silmarin turn to Juiblex, the Faceless Lord, for guidance and power, though those that do are avoided by other silmarin, though rarely are they ostracised or exiled, for all silmarin feel the call of Jubilex in their minds.

Silmarin Names

The silmarin usually name themselves after slime or ooze related things and combine those words with human names.

Ooze: Slippery, Ooze, Slime, Acid
