Class Features
All of the following are features of the dwarf vanguard's racial substitution levels.
Frightful Presence (Ex): A dwarf vanguard can unsettle foes with his mere presence. The ability takes effect automatically whenever the dwarf vanguard charges, overruns, or bull rushes. Creatures within a radius of 10 feet are subject to the effect if they have fewer HD than the dwarf vanguard. A potentially affected creature that succeeds on a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 dwarf vanguard's class level + dwarf vanguard's Cha modifier) remains immune to that dwarf vanguard's frightful presence for 24 hours. On a failure, creatures with 4 or less HD become frightened for 2 rounds and those with 5 or more HD become shaken for 2 rounds.
Skill Focus (Intimidate): A dwarf vanguard gains Skill Focus (Intimidate) as a bonus feat at 6th level. This ability replaces the standard vanguard's armor mastery (medium) class ability normally gained at 6th level.
Fast Movement (Ex): Starting at 12th level, a dwarf vanguard’s land speed is faster than the norm for his race by +10 feet. This benefit applies even while the dwarf is in medium or heavy armor, or carrying a heavy load. This benefit replaces the standard vanguard's armor mastery (heavy) class ability.
