Far, far in the north, it is a Dwarven tradition for Dwarf mothers to forge a loaf of dwarfbread for their young as they set out into the open world to perhaps start a hold of their own. The loaf is usually carried in one's backpack, to remind of the burden of family that a Dwarf must carry with them, but it is not uncommon for a Dwarf adventurer to fit the loaf into their weapon of choice: dwarfbread is, after all, stronger than bedrock. The recipe of dwarfbread varies from family to family, but some of the usual ingredients include iron ore, marble, coal, gravel and gold - with a considerable amount of variation. Usually, the forger of the loaf fits a short message into it with runic scripture made from metal ranging from bronze to gold.
