You used to wonder what friendship could be. Now you embark on a journey to discover its secrets.
Many a great and powerful wizard has tried and failed to unravel the meaning of this queer and seemingly unknowable field of magic that binds people together. To learn more of it you have dedicated yourself to the first step on the road to study friendship.
The science of sociability
2nd level. Making friends may not be an exact science, but regardless, you have poured many days and sleepless nights into studying the rules and theories behind social affairs. You are now confident enough to make use of your findings in the field. You add double your proficiency bonus to either your Performance or Persuasion checks, your choice.
Intervention by a friend
Starting at 6th level, your bonds of friendship are so strong that you are able to heroically intervene should you see a friend in dire need of help. Once per long rest and as a reaction if a party member is within your line of sight and takes damage that would leave them unconscious or dead, you can choose to magically redirect the damage they would receive to yourself, leaving them unscathed. The amount of damage you take from the redirected attack cannot be modified in any way.
I know the real you
Starting at 10th level, you have become so well attuned to the habits and mannerisms of your people that when you are able to easily detect when they are not acting as themselves. You gain advantage on all skill checks related to determining if a creature is being magically influenced, controlled, or impersonated.
Improved Friendship Magic
Starting at 14th level, you gain the ability to make a friend even in the most unlikely of circumstances. You have advantage on all Performance and Persuasion checks, and targets of your spells cannot have advantage on saving throws against being charmed.
Friendship master
Beginning at 14th level, You have officially graduated from the study of friendship and your grand adventures with your friends has made you form a deep well of love for every one of them. Every time the party completes a long rest you may grant a friendship token to another party member of your choosing. A creature can expend a friendship token to roll an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw twice, taking the highest result. A creature can only have one friendship token at a time.
