Snorlax
Physical Description
A Snorlax holding a human child. Source |
Snorlaxes are tall, bipedal, bear-like creatures with a huge gut. They are typically covered in a dark teal fur with a cream colored fur covering their face and belly, though specimens with cerulean fur covering it's body are known to exist. It's large head has two small ears, and it's eyes appear to always be closed. It's mouth has two small fangs proturding from the lower jaw, not unlike an orc. It's large feet has 3 claws on them, while their thick arms have five.
Some Snorlax have even been known to have a bright blue fur color instead of the usual teal. Supposedly, in snow-covered mountains and arctic areas, specimens exist that have very light blue and white fur, but reports of these sightings are incredibly rare and are thought to simply be either hoaxes or people confusing it for Abomasnow.
History
Snorlaxes can be found almost everywhere, along with their Munchlax cubs, but, oddly enough, they are believed to have originated in Kanto yet Munchlaxes were first discovered in Sinnoh. Tales tell of a young boy who, after playing a special flute that roused them from slumber, captured two of them after they had flown into a rage from being woken.
Society
Snorlaxes tend to live in solitude in forests or mountains, although sometimes they wander into human society where they, more often than not, collapse onto roads and fall asleep completely blocking people's path. They awake from their slumber to eat, after which they will proceed to find and consume nearly 900 lbs of food (a little less than it's own body weight) before going right back to sleep. These rotund giants are not picky eaters, and are even able to eat moldy, rotten food without even getting so much as a stomach ache. Sometimes their hunger is so great they may even attempt to consume other pokemon and not realizing it. They have even been known to eat in their sleep!
Amusingly enough, while it is possible to see Snorlax enraged, they are often docile to the point where they will allow children to climb on top of them and even jump on their belly. While enraged, they can display tremendous power that belies their lazy nature. These creatures, despite being large, are actually rather hard to find, and even harder to find are females, as it seems most Snorlaxes are males.
Snorlax Names
Snorlaxes usually have Giant or, on rare occasions, Elvish names. However, some Snorlaxes have been known to have Common names.
Snorlax Traits
Rotund, bear-like pokemon sleep, eat, and then sleep some more.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1 and your Constitution increases by 2.
Age. Snorlaxes usually live between 25-35 years of age, maturing from Munchlax at around 10 years.
Alignment. These rotund giants are usually neutral, preferring to simply eat and sleep rather than be good or evil.
Size. Snorlaxes usually stand close to 7 feet tall and weigh a little over 1000 lbs. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Thick Skinned. You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned and resistance to poison damage.
Blubber. Your thick blubber allows you to survive the toughest winters. You’re acclimated to Extreme Cold, as described in chapter 5 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide.
Gluttony. You require as much food and drink as a large size creature does.
Layabout. You have disadvantage on saving throws against falling unconscious.
Plump Body. Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.
Body Slam. You can use your massive girth to perform unarmed strikes, dealing 1d4 bludgeoning damage + your Strength modifier. If you use this against a creature that is of a size smaller than you, you instead deal 1d8 damage instead of 1d4.
Belch. As an action, you may release the gaseous contents of your stomach at your enemies in the form of a loud, powerful belch. When you do so, each creature in a 15 ft cone must make a Constitution saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 thunder damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. You regain use of this trait after a short rest.
Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and your choice of either Giant or Elvish.
