Talk:Fauchard (5e Equipment)

- According to Wikipedia, the weapon as named is just another one of those polearms that is identical to some other variations of polearm developed independently by other cultures; I think it's specifically of the "slightly curved, inward-edged blade" flavor.
- The weapon as described, on the other hand, is an improvised weapon. If there're any consistent traits specific to the historical fauchard that aren't also consistent with or similar to another polearm we already have a page for, I suggest we change the page flavor to respect that. If a fauchard is functionally indistinguishable from a polearm we do have a page for, I suggest giving the alternate name an honorable mention on that page.
