Cleansed Tiefling (5e Race Variant)
The Cleansed
An extremely rare variation of tiefling from an ancient secluded tribe. By the past influence of a celestial deity, their ancestors were cleansed of the infernal nature of their curse. Giving up some of the more harmful benefits of their ancestry, the combination of the latent tiefling mutations of their bodies and the influence of the celestial power now coursing through their lineage has granted them some impressive new powers.
Individuals from this clan rarely venture out into the world, but those that do are prized as warriors due to their predisposition to loyalty and honor, typically leaning to lawful good and lawful neutral alignments. Other alignments are rare, but not unheard of. Their new forms retain some of the characteristics of their standard tiefling brethren, such as large horns and hooved feet running in some families, as well as tails being common. Most of the similarities end there though, with the Cleansed commonly being much taller and more muscular in form and sporting cool-colored skin, often in shades of blue, purple, or gray.
Cleansed Tiefling Traits
Ability Score Increase: Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Strength score increases by 1.
Cleansed Form: Where common Tiefling bodies are resistant to fire damage, your body has lost this ability in place of immense strength. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Cleansed Legacy: The celestial influence in your body has replaced some of the harmful abilities your ancestors had. You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast the shield spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the daylight spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Celestial.
