Personality[edit]

The Gerudo are a thieving group, through and through. Whether they steal for their own gain, or to return something to it's rightful owner, depends on the Gerudo. The Gerudo, because 99% of them are female, are a very feminist society, with women fulfilling any role from Architect to Soldier to Farmer. They have a very different culture from the Hylians, living an almost polar opposite existence.

Physical Description[edit]

Gerudo are red-haired, sandy brown-skinned humanoids. Unlike Hylians, who have a multitude of men in their group, Gerudo are almost exclusively female.

Relations[edit]

Their culture is extremely different from Hyrulean culture, and it is likely that their societies developed very independently of each other. Gerudo society has little respect for Hylian men, and the only men they ever truly revere are the males born every 100 years into their tribe, who are destined to be their kings. They usually seem to show distaste for Hyrulean culture, as in their eyes living in separate, wooden houses, worshipping Din, Nayru, and Farore, and having differing gender roles between men and women are all blasphemous. In Gerudo culture, the tribe is usually seen all living together in large forts and blockhouses (sometimes in tents), the Goddess of the Sand is worshipped, and women are seen as being able to fulfill any role in society from architect to warrior. It appears that the Gerudo are devout worshippers of the Sand Goddess, as they have constructed a huge monument to her at the Spirit Temple in the middle of the Gerudo Desert. Due to the lack of men, it is possible that in one of the realities, the Gerudos eventually learned to accept Hyrulean culture, and intermingled until they were fully assimilated.

Alignment[edit]

Gerudo, given their rulership by Ganondorf, are almost all chaotic, with an evil alignment not unheard of. However, evil is NOT a dominant alignment; it is just more prevalent than good.

Lands[edit]

Gerudo live in the Gerudo Desert, on the edge of the Haunted Wasteland, and in other various deserts around the world. They also dwell in the Great Bay of Termina, acting as Pirates and terrorizing the locals, including women and children. They control the Spirit Temple, the shrine of their God. They also dislike the presence of the Arbiter's Grounds in their domain, built by the Hylians to house the most dangerous prisoners Hyrule has ever faced.

Religion[edit]

Gerudo worship the Goddess of the Sand, they also have a minor deity "Nabooru, Sage of Spirits".

Language[edit]

Gerudo speak Gerudo, a language indigenous to the desert and spread by Ganondorf in his attacks on Hyrule.
