From D&D Wiki
The Sentient Compendium
- The Sentient Compendium is a Warlock Patron option for 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons
A powerful, sentient arcane tome hungry for more knowledge. An ancient psionic parasite who has begun planning for greater things. A lich with a vast knowledge of the universe desperate to reform themselves. All of these are examples of a Sentient Compendium patron. A character may encounter or be contacted by one such entity and a deal may be reached between them. These warlocks gain restricted access to the patrons stores of knowledge in exchange for the warlocks assistance in completing tasks and gathering knowledge to further the patron's plans.
- Expanded Spell List
The Sentient Compendium lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Sentient Compendium Expanded Spells
1st Command, Comprehend Languages
2nd Detect Thoughts, Zone of Truth
3rd Clairvoyance, Speak With Dead
4th Mordenkainen's Private Sanctum, Freedom of Movement
5th Geas, Legend Lore
- Enhanced Memory
Starting at 1st level your connection with your patron enhances your memory. You can perfectly recall with vivid memory any event that you have seen within the past 24 hours. Your memories of events you only perceived vaguely may be reinterpreted by the DM but you still recall them however true with great detail.
- Arcane Wealth
Starting at 1st level your patron has begun to share it’s vast pool of knowledge with you. You learn a level 1 spell from the wizard spell list and an additional one every time your spell slot level increases (levels 3, 5, 7, and 9). If you gain the Pact of the Tome feature you do not need your book on you to cast your cantrip spells from it and your level 1 spells learnt by this feature will be documented there.
- Secrets of the Body
Starting at 6th level you patron will catalogue the creatures that you face and shares insight into them with you. When you successfully affect a creature with a spell attack of level 1 or greater or a creature fails a saving throw for a spell of level 1 or greater that you have cast your patron will record information about that creature. For any race of creature your patron has recorded information about or that has typically a CR of ½ or less you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls of level 1 or greater against them and the DC of your spells for those creatures is 1 greater. Once you have used this feature you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
- Arcane Mastery
Starting at 10th level your patron offers you knowledge behind the perfection of one of your spells. Choose one of your first level spells, you may cast it at 1st level at will any number of times per day but if it is an action to cast it costs 10 feet of your movement speed, if it is a bonus action to cast it costs 5 feet of your movement speed to cast it. If it is cast as a reaction it will cost 10 feet of your movement speed on your next turn to cast it. At 16th level there is no longer a movement speed cost.
- Adaptive Arcanum
Beginning at 14th level your patron has decided to provide you access to knowledge to the incredibly complex arcanums that it knows but on a limited basis. Whenever you take a long or short rest you may exchange the spell of one of your arcanums with a different spell from the Warlock spell list. If you have already used that arcanum before the beginning of a short rest you may not change the spell of that arcanum.
