Keen Smell. The rat cube has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Cube of Rats. The rat cube can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points, with the exception of from its Swarm ability. It also cannot take any actions aside from those listed in its statblock.

ACTIONS

Rat Attack. A creature within 5 feet of the cube of rats must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes an amount of piercing damage equal to the cube root of the rat cube's current hit points squared (43 at full hit points).

BONUS ACTIONS

Spawn Rat. The rat cube creates a rat in an unoccupied space within 5 feet.

Swarm Master (recharge 5-6). The rat cube consumes a swarm of rats within 5 feet, regaining an amount of hit points equal to twice those remaining of the swarm. Alternatively, it discharges a swarm of rats into an unoccupied space within 5 feet, losing an amount of hit points equal to twice those of the new swarm.

In a 5-foot cube you can fit roughly 283 rats. This is literally a 5-foot cube of rats.
