Trade Goods[edit]

Trade goods are items commonly used by merchants for exchange and barter. This table supplements the one found in the Dungeon Master's Guide (p. 213).

These are average values! Depending on the supply and demand of a region, values will vary: cheaper at the point of origin, and more expensive at distant markets. For example:

  • ±50% for common goods (grain, salt, wool)
  • ±100% for metals (iron, gold)
  • ±500% for luxury goods (silk, spices, dye)

Some regions may have an embargo on certain goods, driving up price in black markets; similarly slavery may be outlawed.
