Way of the Silent Death[edit]
Monk Subclass
A close relative to the Way of Shadows, the Way of the Silent Death have a more heavy-handed belief, and the techniques to back it up. Unlike their cowardly cousins, who hide in both politics, subterfuge, and the darkness, those who follow the Silent Death are more like spontaneous executioners. They thrive in guerrilla warfare, leaping from the shadows to strike down key targets before anyone can even notice they were there. Removing the head, they leave the rest of the body flailing.
- Brutal Training
Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in all light, finesse, and ranged weapons, and these count as monk weapons for you.
- Sneak Attack
Starting at 3rd level, once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a monk weapon.
You don't need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn't incapacitated, and you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll. You cannot benefit from this if you have another sneak attack feature that deals more damage, although you can still use monk weapons for these other sneak attacks.
The damage increases to 2d6 at 11th level.
- Emerge from Chaos
Starting at 6th level, you can walk from battlefield to battlefield. As a bonus action, you can spend 2 ki points and preform one of the following.
- Unto. Target an unoccupied location within 30 feet, that has at least two creatures within 10 feet of said location. You teleport to this location, and the creatures that were within 10 feet cannot make opportunity attacks against you until the end of your next turn.
- Out Of. Target an unoccupied location within 30 feet, which you teleport to. There must be at least two creatures within 10 feet of you.
- Shock and Awe
Your killing blows leave others trembling. Starting at 11th level, whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hitpoints, every hostile creature within 30 feet of you that can see the creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki Save DC or be frightened of you for the next minute.
- Leave the Body Flailing
They won’t know what hit them. At 17th level, once per turn, when you use Emerge from Chaos to teleport, you can spend 3 ki points to make your next sneak attack deal an additional 4d6 damage. If this attack is a critical, the creature is immediately reduced to 0 hitpoints. If this happens, you can immediately use Emerge from Chaos again at no cost, and you cannot be identified or seen in the next minute.
