Classes In Your User Space[edit]

Hey Quincy, I just noticed all the classes you have saved have appeared under 5e Classes as opposed to 5e Incomplete Classes. If you don't mind, could you add a short needsbalance template for them, or better yet add the previous versions of the templates the class had to them if you still have them?--Blobby383b (talk) 09:05, 16 January 2018 (MST)

Better yet, just remove the entire footer please. --Green Dragon (talk) 09:10, 16 January 2018 (MST)
Okay, done. I've taken out the footers from all the classes I've saved, and now they shouldn't appear under 5e Classes. Thanks for the heads up. Quincy (talk) 10:07, 16 January 2018 (MST)
Hello again there Quincy, I just wanted to let you know that two of your userpages seem to have categories, with the two being User:Quincy/Trader and User:Quincy/Deleted Feats General. You should be able to easily delete the breadcrumbs/categories from the Trader and by changing all instances of |nouser=yes to |notuser=yes , you should be able to get rid of the user category from the deleted feats page.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:11, 11 September 2019 (MDT)
Roger that, I've made both of the recommended corrections. Thanks as always for the heads up! Based Quincy (talk) 17:26, 11 September 2019 (MDT)
Np, keep up the good work.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:34, 11 September 2019 (MDT)

Dawn Of Worlds Game[edit]

I was wondering if i could tell you what i want to do and you make the map changes if thats to much i really need to know how maps work.Alucarddragonborn (talk) 10:56, 14 February 2018 (MST)

That's not too much at all. If that's what you're comfortable with doing, then sure I can work with that. Quincy (talk) 11:17, 14 February 2018 (MST)

Airbender Class Template Maintenance[edit]

Hey Quincy, I saw that you made some comments on the viability of a class that I am working on, namely Airbender (5e Class). I have not had time to do a lot with that homebrew, so it was someone else that came in and made changes. None of the content currently on the page was created by me. I am wondering if there is also a page for a 4e class Airbender, and someone mistakenly edited mine instead. Either way, someone made edits to the page and added content that I did not approve. I cannot locate their talk page to ask them not to edit my content. Is there a way for me to do that? Thank you! Sparrowhawk701 (talk) 23:19, 4 June 2018 (MDT)

Hi Sparrowhawk; I'm not quite sure what your issue is. You don't appear to have created that page, or even edited it, and looking through your contributions, you don't appear to have ever created such a class (not even in your deleted contributions). Can you please clarify the issue you're running into?
While I'm here, it appears you've also run into a common misconception, that being that you can call a page "yours" (in the ownership sense). It is long-standing policy that no one can claim sole ownership of a page; you can read more about this on the pages Help:Attribution Policy and Help:Legal. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 23:24, 4 June 2018 (MDT)
I'll propose that page for deletion; while you're waiting for it to be deleted, perhaps you can start making your class at another title (perhaps at User:Sparrowhawk701/Airbender?) and move it there when the current version of that page is deleted? — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 23:35, 4 June 2018 (MDT)

Spamming align="center" seems like it may not be the best way, but it's essentially what Template:5e Class Features does. - Guy 12:11, 25 August 2018 (MDT)

Just want to let you know I'm really grateful for your comment on my Anomalous Human race! --Calibri (talk) 18:28, 1 November 2018 (MDT)

It was truly my pleasure but you're welcome nonetheless. Quincy (talk) 18:33, 1 November 2018 (MDT)

Thank you for clearing the template from the Trumpet's Curse page. I am a new and not yet confident enough to do it after a single edit of my own. Doctor Dee (talk) 01:55, 15 February 2019 (MST)

You're welcome, Doctor Dee, but really it is I who should be thanking you! By putting in the effort to make a long-neglected page usable, you've done more a lot more in the service of this wiki than I did by clearing that template. Don't let the fact that you're new stop you from being bold. Quincy (talk) 23:08, 15 February 2019 (MST)

Request for Adminship[edit]

You are a prolific editor on this site, which you clearly care a lot about, and I feel you would fulfill the role of an admin well. Would you like me to nominate you? — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 09:09, 5 November 2018 (MST)

Yes please! It would be an utmost honor! Quincy (talk) 15:18, 5 November 2018 (MST)
I have posted your RfA here. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 11:23, 6 November 2018 (MST)

All aboard the S.S. Adminship!

Welcome to Adminship. You are now part of "The Face" of D&D Wiki. You have more burden on yourself now that you are an admin because users will be looking at you for editing help, knowledge about pages, etc. Make sure to familiarize yourself with Meta Pages to help address this burden. I recommend you take a look at Special:ListGroupRights if you have not already. Some of the new feature's uses follow: You can now delete pages, protect pages, rollback edits, block users and IP's, edit every page, patrol edits, and do a couple more minor things.

  • Deleting pages is normally done through Category:Candidates for Deletion. Anything with a good reason to be deleted on that page should be deleted. Other times pages should be deleted is in the case of vandalism, spam, or even when someone makes a page and after a few edits they either blank the page or replace it with something like "Please delete this". If this page consisted of close to just the preload it is fine to just delete it.
  • Protecting pages has quite a few different times when it should be used. Pages should be protected according to the author's wishes (with Template:Locked Page added to the top of the page in question), in case of conflict (with Template:Temp Locked Page added to the top of the page in question), in case of OGC published materials (with Template:OGL Top added to the top of the page in question and Template:OGL Bottom added to the bottom), or finally if the page is a vital part of D&D Wiki's organization. Also, if it deals with D&D Wiki's organization the page needs to be protected. For Example 3.5e Homebrew is protected from all non-sysop edits. No template needs to be added to pages if they are part of D&D Wiki's organization (even though some do exist like Template:Admin Locked Page)
  • Blocking a user or IP should be used with respect to policy. To block someone just click "block" (found on Recent Changes, the diff in question, the userpage, etc) and fill out the corresponding form. For a typical vandalism attack I normally block the user for two weeks. Certain things demand a longer block and others a shorter. No standards have been set for block lengths so use your best judgment.
  • Editing every page on D&D Wiki mostly means you can now edit the 5e SRD, 3.5e SRD and the MSRD. Feel free to edit them if inaccuracies are found. If interested further please look at their To-Do lists; I am sure your help will be appreciated.

Now that you are an admin I would say more burden is placed on you, but I really hope you enjoy being an admin and I hope you decide to stay around on D&D Wiki for a while more to come. Welcome to Adminship. Again, you're now part of "The Face" of D&D Wiki. --Green Dragon (talk) 13:58, 13 November 2018 (MST)

Ohmygosh, thank you so very much! I won't let you down! Quincy (talk) 15:16, 13 November 2018 (MST)

Thanks for understanding that my concerns about your RfA were not the same as concerns for you being an admin. Welcome to the S.S. Adminship, my crowning artistic achievement :) May we set sail for adventure and friendship...--GamerAim Chatmod.png (talk) 16:00, 14 November 2018 (MST)
Thanks, GamerAim! I have a feeling we're going to get along just fine! It's a cute picture btw. Quincy (talk) 16:02, 14 November 2018 (MST)

Onesowndemon Block[edit]

Hey, I'm wondering why Onesowndemon was blocked? I know he posted something on Jwguy's talk page, but was there something else? I just noticed his edit on the talk page and went to look at his contributions and saw he was blocked, so I'm interested in what happened with him :) --GamerAim Chatmod.png (talk) 06:12, 1 December 2018 (MST)

He posted Race: Star Warrior (3.5 Kirby), a page where he cussed out Jwguy and SgtLion, among other things calling the former a "[EXPLETIVE] Moron". That's what earned him a ban. Quincy (talk) 06:16, 1 December 2018 (MST)
Thanks! Wow, that looks really bad. He didn't even realize that a) Mara deleted the first page, and b) SgtLion only said the second page needs grammar help. The second page was only implicitly CfD because it had been abandoned for years. Sigh. Thanks again for showing this to me <3 --GamerAim Chatmod.png (talk) 06:23, 1 December 2018 (MST)

The Adventurer Class[edit]

Hi there! I was wondering if you'd seen my comments on your recent addition: The Adventurer (5e Class). I'd very much be interested in working on it, if that'd be alright? --TheStoryEnthusiast (talk) 16:11, 3 December 2018 (MST)

Sorry for taking so long to reply! Yes, that would be alright, and I am giving you my blessing to make whatever changes you so chose. Quincy (talk) 06:29, 5 December 2018 (MST)

IP Talk Pages[edit]

Hey Quincy, you PfD'd a page stating IPs don't get talk pages and I swear I'd seen one before but I haven't seen anything they can't talk pages. Can you show me this, or if another user has seen this somewhere and can comment? I am just not aware of this and can't find something to support it. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 06:36, 6 December 2018 (MST)

I'd also be interested in this as if this was the case: Why even give anonymous users the permissions to edit their user pages given no user can have their username be an IP address due to our policy around usernames? —ConcealedLightChatmod.png (talk) 07:26, 6 December 2018 (MST)
GD himself said that IPs do not get userspaces with this edit. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Quincy (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.
It is true that IPs do not get userpages, but they do get talk pages. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 09:28, 8 December 2018 (MST)
Yes, you're correct. But I don't think (?) that I ever said IPs don't get talk pages. Quincy (talk) 09:32, 8 December 2018 (MST)

extra help[edit]

Hey, I joined this site to help edit things that needed to be edited and clean up articles as part of my new year's resolutions. If you have any deleted content, I'm more than happy to take a pass at it and edit it to your liking. I also took a pass at the barraki 5e race article to get it cleaned up a bit —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Janiator man (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

Well since you're asking I can provide a few links to useful maintenance dpl's.
*User:ConcealedLight/ControlPanel - This is the place I go after my watchlist, it contains just about everything I'm interested in editing and working on. The Grey area contains list I can't do as I have little to no experience with pre 5th edition content.
*Geodude's Needs Balance Hell - Then there is the place I first started my maintenance works, created by Geodude671.
There are countless other lists but these are my personal favourites. Hope that helps. —ConcealedLightChatmod.png (talk) 13:51, 1 January 2019 (MST)
Welcome to the site. Your offer is interesting and I'll consider it. Quincy (talk) 10:03, 2 January 2019 (MST)

5e Mage[edit]

OK, just for you, I made a water mage here. Please tell me if you like it! Quincy (talk) 17:39, 2 January 2019 (MST)

Yanied Adminship[edit]

Um... how the heck do u vote in these admin nomination things? Sorry, I'm sorta new XD --Cosmos (talk) 17:53, 21 January 2019 (MST)

It's easy. You see how there are those bolded sections at the bottom of the page labeled "Support", "Oppose", and "Neutral"? You post a sentence or more explaining why you are making your vote in the appropriate section. Think a user should become an admin? Leave an indented post (by starting a new line with an asterisk), and explain why underneath the "support" tab. Think a user shouldn't be an admin? It's the same thing, but you leave your comment underneath the "oppose" tab. If you have an opinion but can't outright support or oppose a user, leave your comment underneath the "neutral" tab. Make sure to update the approval ration and percentage at the top, too. I'm referring to the "(1/0/0) 100% Approval" at the top of the page. Similarly to the way the bottom of the nomination is organized, the (1/0/0) corresponds to the number of votes in support, opposition, or neutrality, respectively. The 1 vote there is my vote, since no others have been cast. So if you want to support a nomination, in addition to leaving a comment in the "support" tab, you'd change the (1/0/0) to a (2/0/0), and approval would still be 100%. But if you wanted to oppose the nomination, then you'd change the (1/0/0) to a (1/1/0), and change the support to 50%, because now only half, or 50% of the total votes are in support of the user's nomination. Neutral votes, such as (1/0/1) have no effect on the percentage, but still go on record because they are part of the consensus. Does that make sense? Quincy (talk) 18:04, 21 January 2019 (MST)
Yeah I think so, thanks. --Cosmos (talk) 19:11, 21 January 2019 (MST)

So I have concern about a certain user (possibly too early to voice the concern, I only have three situations to present). The user is 2600:1000:b106:d217:95d2:30c1:218e:dfa9, and he is the one who added a (second) feature to a background that had no relation whatsoever to the background, he also added a feature to the same background that Shipwrights are all gay (I thought he meant it offensively, but then complained about the website not being exclusive to LGBTQ people, you can see the comments here. And lastly, he did vandalism (stated by Geodude, who just deleted the page). Not sure if you can do anything about this, I just want to voice my concern about this guy, been noticing all of this in this afternoon. --Cosmos (talk) 17:11, 16 February 2019 (MST)

Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. I have issued a warning to Sparkmage because after running a checkuser on him I have determined that 2600:1000:b106:d217:95d2:30c1:218e:dfa9 is his IP. Quincy (talk) 17:29, 16 February 2019 (MST)
Ok, thank you. --Cosmos (talk) 07:21, 17 February 2019 (MST)

The most Based and Redpilled admin of D&D Wiki[edit]

Could you not imply superiority of other admins? My feelings are not hurt by this but neither I am fond of it. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 12:24, 20 February 2019 (MST)

I was just trying to be funny rather than sincerely suggesting I am superior to other admins. But you're right, I wasn't being considerate of your feelings, and it wasn't a very good joke anyway, so I'll stop. Sorry. Quincy (talk) 22:02, 20 February 2019 (MST)

More Spam Users[edit]

Thank you. Please understand that my shortness with you isn't personal ('twas actually a copy/paste message to you and Geodude); I know you only act the way you think is appropriate and that you do not mean to assume bad faith.--GamerAim (2:0) Chatmod.png (talk) 17:27, 9 June 2019 (MDT)
Gotcha. If this is a formally administered warning (as the subsection title implies it is?), then please do us a favor and update the warning policy page appropriately in accordance with the guidelines listed on that page. That is all. Based Quincy (talk) 17:43, 9 June 2019 (MDT)
Nope, nothing official. My hallmark was always my "ask questions first, shoot later" motto :) --GamerAim (2:0) Chatmod.png (talk) 17:51, 9 June 2019 (MDT)
This warning is not valid. GamerAim we have already explained to you how rants do not have a place on D&D Wiki, but now it seems that you have choosen not to use a usersubpage but your userpage. It's the same thing, and not okay, and perfectly right to remove it and issue GamerAim a warning. --Green Dragon (talk) 22:42, 10 June 2019 (MDT)

5e Archetypes[edit]

Are there Vigilante-type Archetypes called Masked Avenger or Truth Warrior? -- 16:38, 17 July 2019 (MDT)

Do you mean for the fighter? There are no archetypes named specifically Masked Avenger or Truth Warrior, but it is possible there are archetypes similar to what you may have in mind, I didn't explore much. And what do you mean by Vigilante-type? --Cosmos (talk) 16:51, 17 July 2019 (MDT)
I mean archetypes that fight crime (and didn't mean just for fighters). -- 17:06, 17 July 2019 (MDT)
Well, there's the Investigator subclass for the rogue, who's particularly suited for what you're describing. And it's not a class, but rather a background, but by making a character an urban vigilante you can make any character a crimefighter. Based Quincy (talk) 21:57, 17 July 2019 (MDT)

New Update[edit]

The last update to the wiki caused so that a lot of not connected pages appear when you enter the centralizer pages (Vampire, Demon, Angel etc.). Can you fix that? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Maioviez (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

I was perusing through your Utilities link and the idea seemed very useful. I’m not very well versed in the specific language of the wiki, but I was wondering if there was any way to make a single random page link with multiple categories. -Ref3rence (talk) 10:29, 18 September 2019 (MDT)

I'm afraid not. The particular tool our wiki employs for generating random articles in a category doesn't allow it. Based Quincy (talk) 10:39, 18 September 2019 (MDT)

That’s a shame. Thank you for your time. -Ref3rence (talk) 10:40, 18 September 2019 (MDT)

You're never a bother. Based Quincy (talk) 10:42, 18 September 2019 (MDT)
Hey there Ref3rence, I whipped up a quick dpl that can pull from more than a single category(with this one picking a random race or class in 5e). Feel free to copy it and change it to link to whatever random pages you want.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:50, 18 September 2019 (MDT)

Categories on Userpages[edit]

Hey there quincy, just wanted to remind you to make it so all the new equipment pages you added to User:Quincy/Equipment don't have categories. If you are having trouble making any of those pages not have categories while keeping their formatting, I am more than willing to help. Thanks again, and in the future if you ever need help with making something you added to one of your userpages not have categories, send me a DM or message me on my talk page and I will be happy to help.--Blobby383b (talk) 23:11, 9 November 2019 (MST)

Okay, I tried to get to work on removing categories, but I'm afraid I'm having a brainlet moment and I could use your expertise. Is there an easy way that I can make pages like User:Quincy/Amulet of Grim Status (5e Equipment) not display categories? Based Quincy (talk) 23:32, 9 November 2019 (MST)
Maybe I should be more specific. I know how to make something that looks like the magic item template without using the template, but when I'm copying over a large number of pages (as I often do), I'd rather not have to do a lot of manual work. Is there any way I can work with templates without adding the forced categories? Based Quincy (talk) 23:38, 9 November 2019 (MST)
For equipment pages, there currently isn't a way to copy over pages without having to do a bunch of work to remove their categories. I did create the {{5e User Spell}} template for non-categorized spells for that reason, but the real hassle with trying to get equipment pages to not add categories is that you would probably need create special templates at least half a dozen times for all the different types of equipment templates(. In the end, it doesn't take more than a few minutes at most to make equipment pages not have templates on them, so creating custom templates is probably more effort than its worth.--Blobby383b (talk) 02:25, 10 November 2019 (MST)
Thanks anyway for the help! Based Quincy (talk) 09:36, 10 November 2019 (MST)
FYI, I've edited {{5e Spell}} so that the nocategory parameter actually does remove all categories, so the User Spell template is now no longer needed. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 11:06, 10 November 2019 (MST)

I'm kinda iffy on the subject using origami as an arcane focus - it doesn't seem to really be associated with channeling arcane power to me - but as a holy symbol, origmai can easily be appropriate! If a god or a pantheon considers origami to be a representation of divinity, then by all means, go for it! The world needs bullies. Remember to thank a bully today! Collector's Coat[edit]

Thanks for removing "Collectors Coat as Armor". I wasn't sure how to handle equipment that is both adventuring equipment and armor at the same time. I now have a Collectors Armor entry under armor, and a Collectors Coat entry under equipment and they refer to each otehr. I hope that is the right way to do it. If not please advise. Thanks. Arquebus (talk) 11:57, 30 January 2020 (MST)

I saw a small punctuation error in the title of the Collector's Armor, but other than that it looks fine to me. I'm glad I could help! The world needs bullies. Remember to thank a bully today! (talk) 12:04, 30 January 2020 (MST)

Mechmaster (5e class)[edit]

Hi Quincy it's me again, I was just wondering if it would be ok for me to take ownership of the MechMaster (5e Class) as no one seems to be working on this class except me and I think the original creator has abandoned it.

-Cake :3

Our policies hold that users cannot claim "ownership" of pages per se (see Help:Attribution Policy and Help:Legal), but they also say that the original creator of a class has no extraordinary ownership of a page either. Since you are as of now the primary contributor to that page, your vision and intent will be taken into consideration in case anyone decides to edit the page, which is as good as de facto ownership. So yes, in a sense, that's OK! The world needs bullies. Remember to thank a bully today! (talk) 10:23, 10 February 2020 (MST)

Invitation to Participate in 5e Rlyeh Development[edit]

I'm interested in starting an environment or campaign development of "Sunken Rlyeh.” I’m contacting you because you have in the past created Lovecraft/Cthulhu-related material, or otherwise indicated some interest in the topic; so I’m hopeful that you would be interested in supporting and participating in this development effort.

I have developed some ideas about the nature of this underwater city, its inhabitants, and some special rules pertaining to interactions and the city's non-Euclidean geometry. I've also made some encounter tables and a table of city locations/structures. The concept is that below the surface of a prime material ocean, at the point farthest from any surface landmass, is a gate to the Elemental Plane of Water. On the other side of the gate is the city of Rlyeh, which sank and reformed itself as an underwater sphere. The sunken city is dark and sinister and slimy, and filled with many horrific denizens (but appropriate for the level of the adventuring party).

The encounter tables include one for the prime material ocean surface, a deep water table appropriate for either side of the gate area, and one for the city itself. The encounters include creatures from standard 5e material, as well as many D&D Wiki creatures.

I think that the effort could be successful even if contributions from multiple authors are contradictory, because… well, it’s Rlyeh. My notion is that there would be sub-categories like creatures/inhabitants, movement and vision/visability rules, geography (structures, distances, etc), encounters, traps, and the like. Any author could place relevant material in an existing category, or create a new one. I’m hopeful that any material deposited could be used with slight or no modification. Conflicting rules or other info could be optional and at the DM’s discretion, or only applicable in certain locations in the city, or whatever.

Please reply if you are interested in participating in this activity.

Upsetting Article[edit]

Hello Quincy,

I am writing you concerning the following article:

It was brought to my attention after one of my fellow players was looking for information regarding her race in DnD, she had stumbled onto this article believing it to be the official class. We’ve all made this mistake at least once, we’re not concerned with her not recognizing this wiki’s purpose. Instead we (her entire DnD group) were appalled with the content of this page. This race is written with an inherent sexist bias that is unrealistic and harmful. It isn’t super clear on your Warning Policy page if this sort of speech is accepted.

Here are a few of the upsetting ideals written into this race:

“Hence, the lizardfolk have inferior endurance, especially the females, who have even more serious problems metabolizing lactic acid. In a long fight, a lizardfolk will tire faster than a human and will probably retreat if the fight isn't won in a couple of minutes.”

“An average male requires an average of 8 hours of sleep, while a female requires an average of 10 hours of sleep, although many females prefer to sleep for 12 hours.”

"Without exception, within the same species, male lizardfolk are larger, heavier, stronger, faster, more durable, more resistant to pain, fatigue and sickness, and less easily tired than female lizardfolk. Additionally, male lizardfolk have higher average intelligence and are wiser than female lizardfolk. This is due to the need for the males to do the hunting and fighting for the tribe. Additionally, male lizardfolk naturally live longer than females, but the habits of war and violence tend to equalize their lifespans with the females. In no case does a female lizardfolk ever control a tribe, clan, or village; the purpose of the female lizardfolk consorts is to make heirs, not to rule. If a chief were to die and a daughter or wife was his only relative, then the strongest males would fight to see which one of them was the strongest, and the winner would become the new chief.

It should be obvious that male lizardfolk are excellent front line soldiers. With more strength and constitution than an average human, they ought to make great fighters. At home, they are excellent hunters and fishers, and can apply their hunting skills to aid whatever party of adventurers they may join. The males can also make skilled rangers.

Female lizardfolk are often unable to take care of themselves, as they aren't very good at competing with males for hunting or fishing grounds; the very few that have ever tried have been outclassed in every way. As a result, they have to find a mate or else depend on male relatives. In isolation, a female lizardfolk actually would be able to do some hunting or fishing, but even the least competition from a male will be enough to see her outdone. Female lizardfolk are more flexible than their male counterparts, but not nearly so much so that they would get any bonus to dexterity because of it.

For game purposes, to get the stats of a female lizardfolk, first calculate the stats normally for the male, and then factor in the following:

-4 strength, -4 constitution, -2 intelligence, -2 wisdom. Female lizardfolk also only have +2 natural armor instead of the male +5 natural armor (in common lizardfolk, but in no case do females have more than, or as much natural armor as the males, no matter the species.) Females can only hold their breath for only three times its constitution score before drowning (instead of 4X for the male.) Females by necessity, are supposed to lay eggs and raise children, thus ensuring the continued survival of the race. Biologically, this necessitates certain physiological adjustments that may impede the females from combat, but in no way reduce their value to the race; in fact, their value actually increases in some ways because they can lay eggs. Lizardfolk females are acutely aware of this, and very few females will live their lives without reproducing.

In comparison to a human, a typical female lizardfolk has -2 strength, constitution, wisdom, and -4 intelligence (minimum of 3). In an adventuring party, this can prove to be quite a problem. Being neither good at combat nor skilled in magic, the female lizardfolk would at first glance appear to be a liability for any party. However, this weakness can be turned into a strength... of a sort. Having little combat proficiency frees the female lizardfolk PCs from having to develop such skills, enabling them to class as bards and rogues and develop other skills. With little need to give them fighting skills, one can develop a female character's non-combat skills, and use them to the party's advantage. Female Paludian lizardfolk bards receive a +2 charisma bonus upon entering that class and lose it when leaving it. This reflects the exotic, eye-catching nature of the females; this is only able to be exploited by a class which requires the female to be looked at and paid attention to. For a female fighter or paladin, appearance and grace matter less, and the rest of the world knows it, so only the bard would logically receive a bonus for being eye-catching in a performance. Skills for the female lizardfolk that are worth focusing on include Balance, Diplomacy, Disguise, Escape Artist, Gather information, Move Silently,Open Lock, Perform, and Sleight of hand. Chances are, one can easily fit an exotic, alluring female lizardfolk into a party, especially if one's party needs someone agile and charismatic (while there is no particular bonus for dexterity, it ought to be focused on in order to make the PC worthwhile.) These can be good PCs because they can excel in certain niche roles that a party might need from time to time, such as having to send someone to balance on a narrow plank in order to get an item, or having to sneak through a dark room.

During the prime mating season (spring, roughly 1/4 of the year), females receive a special +4 modifier to certain charisma checks to represent the release of pheromones and their greater desire to mate (though females always wish to mate more than the males do, but even more so during mating season), but it wears off after the season ends. In the wider world, female lizardfolk are considered to be rare, exotic and eye-catching, whereas the ferocious males simply intimidate and frighten others. Hence, the outside observer can see a dichotomy between the two roles of the lizardfolk sexes; male strength vs female exoticness.

There is one native Paludian class which allows female lizardfolk to circumvent some of their disadvantages, that of the Hierodule, a divine casting class with no offensive capability. The education required for this class enables the females to avoid the -2 intelligence and -2 wisdom penalty, and this will apply only for the female if her first class is that of Heirodule. For no other class does the training for being a Heirodule apply, so if the female should switch classes, the penalties to intelligence and wisdom apply."

“Like all other species of lizardfolk, the males are much heavier, larger, stronger, and more durable in every way than the females, who only weigh between 90-120 pounds (on average), are at least a foot shorter, are nowhere near as strong, and have softer skin, weaker bones, and less resistance to pain, fatigue, and injury. The females also have a lesser capacity for logic and reason, being creatures of hormones, feelings, and passions. The common lizardfolk are the most numerous type of in Paludia, forming a plurality of the entire lizardfolk population in Paludia.”

I understand the desire to create races that mimic animals and cultures but no animal puts this strong of a disadvantage on all females. This article appears to be written with a ridiculous amount of harmful language and ideals towards females. It explicitly states that women of this race are useless for all things other than mating, it frequently uses the problematic work “exotic” and only gives women any use if they are used as a sex object as a bard and any advantage they get from that goes away if they leave the party. I’m not sure if the class started this way or was added later. Regardless, it seems inappropriate to have an article like this for a game that should be about inclusion and acceptance.

I am posting this for all of the moderators so the article can be reviewed. I understand if this isn’t found to be against your community guidelines but please do consider the harm this type of article might impose on someone who might be quick to make parallels with human females or young females who might believe this about themselves.

Hi ConcernedViewer, I am afraid that I am only here on D&D Wiki to solve serious problems. Next! Quincy (talk) 21:19, 3 December 2020 (MST)
I've handled this.
Quincy, your response to this comes across to me as dismissive and inconsiderate. In what way is this not a "serious" problem? — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 21:26, 3 December 2020 (MST)
I think it is patently absurd to be offended by the characteristics of a nonhuman species in a fantasy game that is not intended to reflect reality. Quincy (talk) 21:36, 3 December 2020 (MST)
That is your opinion, however, I disagree. The media we consume, including works which portray fantastical alternate realities, can influence the way we think about the real world. I don't think it's unreasonable to believe that something which portrays the females of a certain race to be inferior to the males in nearly every way has the potential to create some very unhealthy thought patterns regarding the real world. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 21:59, 3 December 2020 (MST)
