Physical Description[edit]

The Saiyans, walking with their King

Saiyans are outwardly very similar to Human-type Earthlings, with the exception of their monkey-like tails. They are commonly seen to have black hair, black eyes (although the anime has occasionally shown brown, blue and blonde hair and purple eyes), and yellow skin. Although Saiyans such as Kale, Broly and Paragus have darkened skin. In at least the case of Universe 6 Saiyans, their irises are visible with slightly lighter coloring. Naturally growing stronger as they mature, they gain a very muscular and well-defined build.

History[edit]

The Saiyans are a fighting race who, since ancient times, have lived a violent and inhumane lifestyle, where they attack numerous planets to build up wealth and goods. Some speculate that Saiyans were originally Great Apes who gained intelligence and took on a humanoid form. As noted by Whis, "ancient Saiyans" possess different ki from the ones in the present time.

Society[edit]

Saiyans place great emphasis on strength and power as a source of prestige, measuring and defining their race from infancy by their power level and placing them in an associated social caste afterwards. A baby Saiyan's power level is measured as soon as they are born, if their power level is up to standard they are raised as upper-level warriors and become combatant candidates. If their power level remains low even after a certain amount of time has passed, they are classed as low-level warriors and become either engineers, scientists, or infiltration babies. Infiltration babies are sent off to a planet the Saiyans have selected for take over, and if the baby grows up into a warrior capable of taking over the planet they are allowed to return as a full-fledged combatant. Incidentally, infiltration babies have a low survival rate.

Saiyan Names[edit]

Saiyan names are varied, often being based off of vegetables.

Male: Vegeta, Nappa, Kakarot

Female: Caulifla, Kale, Gine

Saiyan Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength or Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Saiyans mature quickly from late teens and can live up to 150 years, and they stay in prime fighting condition until their very last few years.
Alignment. Saiyans tend to share common personality traits, even at young ages. Being war-like people, they share an innate enjoyment for conflict and fighting, choosing violence over peace with other races. While Saiyans are commonly of chaotic alignments, with few being lawful, they respond well to shows of power allowing the strongest of their people to stand above the rest.
Size. Saiyans are similar to humans standing from 5 to well beyond 6 feet and with a wide weight range as well, from 130 to beyond 250 pounds. Your size is Medium, if you are younger than 16 years old, your size is small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Born for Battle. All saiyans are born fighters with natural talent in their blood. The damage tier of your unarmed strikes increases by 1
Further Beyond.. Saiyans are known to push past what is their limit and continue to fight despite fatal injuries. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
Prehensile Tail. Your Saiyan biology includes a prehensile tail. Objects may be carried and manipulated with it, including fine manipulations. You cannot hold a weapon or shield using your tail. Due to the increased balance your tail grants you, you are proficient in the Acrobatics skill. Additionally, while benefiting from the Prehensile Tail trait, you can make unarmed strikes with your tail. Making unarmed strikes in this way decreases the damage die by 1 tier(d12 < d10 < d8 < d6 < d4) to a minimum of a d4. If it is already at a d4 but uses multiple dice, reduce the dice rolled by 1 instead, to a minimum of 1d4. If your tail is severed, you are no longer considered proficient in Acrobatics. Your tail will slowly grow back over the course of a week, but if it is cut by special means such as an adamantine sword, it will not grow back, you regain use of it once you complete a long rest. If someone grabs your tail, you count as being incapacitated, with training, this eventually becomes restrained and then disappears completely. As a bonus action, you can spin your tail rapidly to grant you a flying speed equal to your walking speed, but you cannot end your turn in the air. In addition, you gain the Oozaru transformation.
Powerful Build.. Despite their size saiyans are biologically more efficient in feats of strength compared to other races their size. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. However, saiyans also require greater quantities of food and drink to sustain their massive strength, you require 10 times as much food as a normal Medium-sized creature would.
Zenkai Boost. Saiyans have the incredible ability to get stronger from near death experiences, your racial multiplier is your zenkai multiplier, if you get to ⅓ of your hit points or less, you receive a permanent boost to your power based on the severity of the damage, following the table below:

  • ⅓: +2 to all physical ability scores and their maximums, +10ft of movement, +5 Ki and your zenkai multiplier is multiplied by any value between 1,2 and 4
  • ¼: +4 to all physical ability scores and their maximums, +20ft of movement, +10 Ki and your zenkai multiplier is multiplied by any value between 4,2 and 8
  • 1 health: +6 to all physical ability scores and their maximums, +30ft of movement, +15 Ki and your zenkai multiplier is multiplied by any value between 8,2 and 16
  • 0 health: +8 to all physical ability scores and their maximums, +40ft of movement, +20 Ki and your zenkai multiplier is multiplied by any value between 16,2 and 24
  • 2 Failed death saves: +10 to all physical ability scores and their maximums, +50ft of movement, +30 Ki and your zenkai multiplier is multiplied by any value between 24,2 and 33,3

The power level increase is chosen by your DM and may be lower or higher depending on the current situation and how you got to said level of severity, the numbers presented are merely a standard. The DM may also choose to not grant a Zenkai at a given time.

For this bonus to apply the injuries cannot be made by yourself and you need to get back to full health by either healing or a long rest.

Your zenkai multiplier cannot exceed 375; if a zenkai would cause this number to exceed 375, your power level is instead multiplied by a number equal to 375 divided by its current value. You cannot gain any benefit from zenkais if this number is at this limit. The DM may alter this number if they wish, although this is the recomended one. The stat, movement and ki increases are capped at 20, 100 and 60 respectively, as always, the DM may change this if they wish.

Your character only becomes aware of this feature after it's first activation, he will not know about the severity table unless he experiences two boosts with different severities and will not be aware of the limits on the increases this feature can grant.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
