Personality[edit]
Kokiri Kids (Nintendo) |
Kokiri are very secluded from the rest of the world, and their personality shows this. They believe strongly that they are physically tied to the lands they dwell in, and prefer to stay in the area rather than take up adventuring. Those that do are typically outcasts of the society, sent off to die when the power of the forest no longer holds sway over them. This belief is utter falsehood.
Kokiri hold their guardian fairies in high esteem. To possess a fairy is a sign of maturity among these children of the forest. To be without a fairy is a sign of childhood, leaving the young kokiri as a lower-class member of their society.
Physical Description[edit]
Kokiri appear to be human children, barely beyond age 13 at the most.
They have lean bodies, large rounded eyes, and pointed ears. Their hair usually ranges from a gingery red to golden-blonde, but green, blue, and even two-tone hair is not unheard of. Kokiri usually dress in simple green tunics and green caps, signifying themselves as members of their forest.
In addition to their simple garb, Kokiri have a fairy that watches over them and acts as a guardian of sorts, bestowed by the deities of the forest that they worship. Fairies appear as glowing spheres of light with insectile wings. Their glow can be red, yellow, blue, pink, purple, white, or even black. A fairy is usually quite talkative, giving a Kokiri advice or warning them of impending danger. Fairies are diminutive fey.
Relations[edit]
Kokiri do not deal with outsiders. They feel their settlements are for them alone, and only one with proof of alliance (typically a song played on a wind instrument) will even be allowed into the village. Those who are allies with the Kokiri are generally welcomed into the village, but still regarded as lowly as they do not have a fairy.
Alignment[edit]
Usually neutral
Lands[edit]
Kokiri live in the Kokiri Village, located in the Kokiri Forest. The Lost Woods are reachable from here, but they believe it to be a cursed dangerous place and know better then to travel there alone even though some try to prove that they are great warriors by traveling through the woods but no one except a Kokiri can make it out alive due to their heritage and any other race will be turned into a stalfos.
Religion[edit]
The Kokiri's spiritual leader is the Great Deku Tree. As far as we know they follow the same religion as Hylians, regarding Din. Nayru, and Farore. It does how ever seem that they have greater aligence to Farore being that she created the forest.
they also have the Minor Deity "Saria, Sage of the Forest", who was one of the Kokiri at one point.
Language[edit]
Kokiri speak Hyrulean and Kokiri.

A Kokiri that gains a familiar or animal companion does not lose its fairy, but any benefits do not stack. It also has the ability to use an attack dubbed 'Hey, Listen' on enemies, dealing 1 damage.
If the guardian fairy dies, the Kokiri must wait 24 hours before acquiring a new one. Acquiring a new fairy requires the Kokiri to travel to the Deku forest and speak with the Great Deku Tree.

Special: The fairy of the skull kid also changes to the same alignment of the skull kid. Because of this, the Deku tree cannot be persuaded to give a skull kid a new fairy when the old one dies. Instead the skull kid must travel to a fairy fountain and mourn for 24 hours for a new fairy.
A skull kid may gain up to 1 extra fairy every 3 class levels. In order to acquire another fairy, a skull kid uses a racial skill similar to the Druids " animal companion" class feature, exept that they can only acquire a fairy.
