Beast Breathing[edit]

Beast Breathing accurately imitates the fighting style of a wild beast, whether it be through enhanced senses, or through inhuman speed you can trust this styles users to be extremely capable when it comes to hunting demons like they were a wild animal.


Creating a Beast Breathing user.[edit]

Quick Build

You can make a Beast Breathing user quickly by following these suggestions. First, Strength should be your highest ability score, followed by Constitution. Second, then choose two one-handed light weapons to dual wield.

Class Features

As a Beast Breathing user. you gain the following class features.

Hit Points

Hit Dice: 1d(8) per Beast Breathing user. level
Hit Points at 1st Level: (8) + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d(8) (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Beast Breathing user. level after 1st

Proficiencies

Armor: Light, Medium.
Weapons: Simple and Martial weapons.
Tools:
Saving Throws: Constitution and Strength.
Skills: Intimidation, Athletics or Acrobatics

You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • Two light Simple or Martial weapon of your choice, and Leather armor

Whenever a saving throw is called for the dc will be equal to 8+ the beast breather's proficiency modifier + the beast breather's strength modifier


First Fang: Pierce[edit]

The beast breather rushes forward and attempts to pierce a target's neck with a basic attack, if this attack lands the victim will be unable to move until the beast breather’s next turn or until they remove the blades from their neck on a successfully contested strength check. Using this feature expends the beast breather's bonus action, as well as one breathing point.


Second Fang: Slice[edit]

The user leaps 5ft into the air and slices downwards with both blades hitting all enemies 10ft in front of the user dealing weapon damage + 2. Using this feature expends the beast breather's bonus action, as well as two breathing points.


Dual Wield Prowess[edit]

When dual wielding two swords or otherwise a beast breather can roll their second attack without any restrictions or drawbacks however it still costs a bonus action as per normal.


Blatant Disregard for Safety[edit]

The beast breather enters a stance that favors offensive capabilities over defensive ones this allows the user to attack up to four additional times with their attack action but for every additional attack made the users ac will go down by two AC until their next turn.


Third Fang: Devour[edit]

The beast breather dashes up to 15ft at a target and attempts to create an x-like pattern across their target's chest dealing both weapons damage+1d4 each. Using this Fang expends the beast breather's bonus action, costs two breath points, as well as 15ft of movement.


Bears Resistance[edit]

The beast breather gains resistance to the first type of damage they take in combat.


Boars Rush[edit]

When the beast breather uses the dash action if they end in the same square as another creature that creature must make a strength save or be knocked backward 5ft landing prone.


Fourth Fang: Tiger Takedown[edit]

The beast breather crouches down and launches themselves up to 20ft towards a target forcing them to make a contested strength check in an attempt to knock them prone and if they do they will gain advantage on all attacks against that target if the user launches from stealth or from behind the target the victim will have disadvantage on the contested strength check. Using this form expends the beast breather's main action, as well as five breathing points.


Beasts Rage[edit]

The beast breather gains the ability to tap into their rage, gaining +4 damage on all attacks, and an additional 15ft of movement speed while enraged. This rage will persist until the user fails to hit a creature in their turn. This feature can only be used once per short rest. Using this feature expends the beast breather's bonus action.


Fifth Fang: Crazy Cutting[edit]

The beast breather leaps into the air extending their arms and rotating their whole body in order to deal 3d8+strength mod slashing damage to all enemies within 10ft of the user. Using this form expends the beast breather's main action, as well as 5 breathing points.


Extra Attack[edit]

You gain an extra attack using your attack action


Blood Lust[edit]

If an enemy is bleeding or has an open wound (below maximum HP) the beast breather will gain knowledge of their immediate location as long as it's within 60ft of the beast breather, and additionally the beast breather will gain 20ft of movement speed when moving towards the enemy.


Sixth Fang: Spatial Awareness[edit]

The beast breather enters a trance and takes a deep breath mapping out their full surroundings and gaining awareness of all creatures within 120ft of the beast breather when they activate this ability. Using this form expends the beast breather's main action, as well as four breathing points.


Seventh Fang: Bulls Barrage[edit]

The beast breather doubles the number of attacks they will be able to make using the attack action but their ac drops to five until their next turn. Using this ability expends five breath points.


Eighth Fang, Ultimate Hunting Technique: Takedown, Pierce, And Devour[edit]

The beast breather combines 3 Fangs in a display of their ultimate hunting technique, this combination allows the beast breather to leap 30ft (consuming 30ft of their movement) to a target in an attempt to pierce into their throat, if this lands then the beast breather will summon all of their strength in an attempt to send the victim upwards at which point victim will then be thrown into the air, after this the beast breather leaps into the air once again and slashes across the victim's whole body dealing 6d8 and an additional 1d8 damage for every extra attack the beast breather can make during this turn. Using this form expends the beast breather's main action, as well as eight breathing points.


Ability Score Improvement[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.


Mantra[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 20th level, you gain the ability to breathe deeply and meditate for a short period of time (1 action) regaining 1 breath point for each level of mantra you have unlocked (see class features table).
