Aran-oids (5e Race)
Aran-oids[edit]
Aran-oids are quite literal, even for robots, all about obeying commands absolutely. This makes them unbribable and absolutely trustworthy, although some of them are very literal-minded about the execution of their duties. Take caution when giving one commands. Like genies, words can confound the result and end with unintended consequences, especially for such an innocent-minded robot.
Physical Description[edit]
Aigis, from Persona 3 by Atlus |
Aran-oids all look different. Depending on their creator, they may look tough for a bodyguard, or look beautiful for companionship. They generally have a humanoid shape, much like an android. However, unlike androids who may have flawless imagery, most of the skin is only on the face and neck of Aran-oids. This often leaves their circuitry exposed and their racial nature very obvious to the eye. Though the creator can decide where skin ends and electronics begin, they typically never cover the whole body. Creators have full control of customization, and can even put individual freckles on an aran-oids face. An aran-oid's voice sounds like a computer generated AI. They can imitate sounds of electronics like beeps, bloops, etc and so communicate with electronics.
History[edit]
Aran-oids are built to help in whatever branch they are needed, from blacksmiths to assassins. They are highly customizable and mass-produced. Aran-oids, as a matter of fact, historically were a model of machinery designed for the masses and daily use. Because they had an often incomplete exterior compared to androids and other more complete machines, they were cheaper to make of material and thereby cheaper to purchase. Poorer populations bought them to help with their occupations but they were not completely unfavored by the higher stratii. Overall, their mass production and highly adaptable software makes them still a very popular model of robot to own.
Society[edit]
Aran-oids can be found almost anywhere really, thanks to their versatile work abilities. They are often the workers of any job, from grunt mining to assembly line work and even secretarial or clerical work. Aran-oids typically have programming to make them servile and good at communications for customer service. Thus, they are generally considered quite nice. However, they can be a bit grating with little personality and awfully bland reactions. Aran-oids are generally naive and literal, taking commands and such at face value. This led to a slight decrease in their popularity among users and they are mainly a minority now in the population of servile mechanical constructs of numerous societies.
Aran-oids Names[edit]
Aran-oid's name can be anything that their creator came up with. Their general name is usually an I.D. code, with the letter denominating the represented gender. As of yet, only two genders exist for aran-oids.
Male: M-335, M-663, M-M53
Female: F-203, F-F44, F-F22
