Akrotesy

Personality

Akrotesy are cautious yet prideful. Several years ago a plague swept through their lands at the same time as a way against the humans. Since then their numbers have dwindled, and they view any stranger suspiciously. Akrotesy are at the same time very loyal, and will protect any close friend to the death. Akrotesy are as focused as their elven brethren, but at he same time do not lose sight of other possibilites. Akrotesy are sly and unforgiving, but face resentment at the chivalrous lives they lost.

Physical Description

Akrotesy are about seven feet tall and thin. They have pale green, pink, or light blue hair that tends to fall far from their heads. Their stomachs are much smaller than that of most races, and they possess an organ which most do not know what the function of it is. In reality it is choroplast, an enlarged version of the organelle found in plant cells. This allows them to perform photosynthesis, reducing the amount of food they need to eat. Akrotesy are utilitarian and will generally only wear decorative items when they also have an important function. In this case they prefer silver and copper.

Relations

The Akrotesy carry a deep resentment to humans, as because of them their race numbers in the thousands. However, most Akrotesy know better than to be prejudiced. As such, Akrotesy will have individual relations with individuals. If there are any groups other than humans that Akrotesy would be biased against, it would be the elves, as they are close allies, and the halflings, who took many in after the war and the plague.

Alignment

Most Akrotesy are true neutral, but can be found in any alignment.

Lands

After what the Akrotesy call the cataclysm, they became scattered and forced out of their nation: Delsiig (literally meaning tall city, this was meant to show their nation was high and mighty. The Akrotesy have spread out across the entire planet and planes, and are foreigners everywhere they go. Several groups have begun to attempt to retake their homeland.

Religion

The Akrotesy worship the Twilight, an entity created by the merging of the Blazing Sun and the Shrouded Night. They believe that the Twilight has came before, but only in times of great stress, and as such believe that the world will soon change forever. The Twilight teaches the Akrotesy to not become radical and to always be prepared for anything, willing to look at a situation at any angle. Good and evil aligned Akrotesy followed the Blazing Sun and the Shrouded Night respectively. These groups believe the other is a blasphemy and commit horrible atrocities to destroy the other.

Language

The Akrotesy speak Common and Akrotesian.

Akrosian's are given their first name at birth. When they reach adulthood they chose their middle name. From then on most Akrotesy call them by this name, the only way allowed by Akrotesy culture to call someone by their first name is to get the person's express permission. The last name of an Akrotesy is based on their bloodline, and when to Akrotesy marry, they together decide which bloodline their children follow.
