Dworcs

Personality

Dworcs are repulsive creatures of both dwarven and orcish blood. They are as stubborn as dwarves and as brutal as orcs. They tend to attack whatever threatens them, regardless of the wisdom of such an attack. They are shunned by dwarves, so they commonly live with orcs. They tend to act like their orcish brethren, but even more brutal. When adventuring, they can't help but pick on the smaller races (i.e. gnomes and halflings) or those they perceive as weak (i.e. wizards or sorcerers). They tend to value physical prowess over all, and will not accept a leader that cannot best them in combat.

Physical Description

Dworcs are built as dwarves but taller. They average 4'2" tall and weigh around 160 lbs. They are stout of build, but with the powerful muscles of both the orcish and dwarvish ancestry. They tend to have brown, black or red eyes and usually have olive green skin. Their hair ranges from black, to red, to various shades of brown. They cover themselves in tribal tattoos, usually in a misguided attempt to gain acceptance from the other orcs of it's tribe. They reach maturity around the age of 25. They can live for 120 years.

Relations

Dworcs are almost never found among dwarves. They are reviled and hated by their dwarvish relatives, as a symbol of the outrage that had obviously been done upon one of their own. It is very rare that they are raised in dwarven communities because of this revulsion.

Dworcs raised by orcs have a tough life ahead of them. Being half-breed of a race that they have been at war with for ages, orcs use every opportunity to torment and beat these symbols of their hated enemies. Although slower then orcs to mature, they tend to be strong from an early age, earning them an extended "childhood" that the orcs take as a sign of orcish superiority and utilize them in various demanding physical labours. Abused from a very young age, subjected to cruelty and violence, they tend to become sullen and violent themselves. Some become raging beasts, lashing out in a rage at anything they perceive as a threat or that they believe is weaker then themselves. Others invert the anger and use it to fuel scheming and revenge plots. In almost all cases, they create a damaged and warped creature that delights in torment of the weak and tearing down of the strong.

Raised in either community, dworcs tend to be loners, or hang with a tight-knit group of other dworcs in their communities. They distrust others intensely, always look for hidden mockeries or incoming cruelty, but will grudgingly follow powerful leaders, wary of the harm that could befall them if they dis-obeyed.

Alignment

Any non-lawful (usually chaotic, usually evil)

Lands

They can be found in any land that also contain orcs.

Religion

They tend to worship gods of war, death, torture and destruction. Shunned by their dwarvish ancestors and tormented by their orcish relatives, they tend to be brutal and cruel, and worship deities that embody those traits.

Language

Orcish, few speak Dwarven.

Names

They are usually named in the manner of orcs, but with a cruel and mocking twist. Where an orc would be known as Krask Skull-Biter, a dworc's might be known as Krask Skull-Bitten, or Foot-Biter, or worse. The tribal name is always twisted in this fashion to let everyone know the lineage of the dworc and give tacit approval to mock and abuse them.
