These small gray oozes aren't as dangerous as regular ones, but tend to be found in large numbers. Although they are still unsophisticated in their hunting tactics, they are slightly more intelligent than most oozes and have a more curious nature. Some have even been known to be befriended and kept as pets or companions, particularly by ooze-kin. Variant: Psychic / FamiliarLike a gray ooze, a gray oozeing that lives a long time can evolve to become more intelligent and develop limited psionic ability. Such occurrences are more common in oozelings that live near psionic creatures such as mind flayers, suggesting that the oozeling can sense and mimic psionic ability. Some of these psionic gray oozelings are willing to serve spellcasters as familiars. |
